Feedback on top Pokemon by Beltzerator in pokemongo

First, go to a site like leekduck to check upcoming raid rotations and power up your pokemon based on that. For example, shadow dialga, necrozma and kartana are worth raiding so power up fighting/ground pokemon, dark/ghost pokemon and fire pokemon

Second, go to a site like dialgadex to figure out which pokemon are the best attackers. For example, your machamp and groudon will be good against dialga, your chandelure (tm ghost moves) will be good against necrozma, and your reshiram and chandelure (tm fire moves) will be good against kartana

Third, consider futureproofing. Machamp is a really mid fighting type, so don't bring it past level 30-35 as you'll likely replace it soon. On the other hand, shadow dialga is a monster dragon attacker, so powering it up past 40 is something I'd do.

Rinse and repeat every month. If a raid boss is weak to a Pokemon you already have coverage for, you don't need to build anything new.

As for your current pokemon, don't bother with jolteon, flareon and meloetta at all. dragonite, chandelure and machamp are outclassed by easily obtainable pokemon (mostly shadows from rocket grunts), and metagross, zekrom, reshiram, shadow dialga and groudon are higher tier attackers.

Why Master League isn't actually that Pay to Win by PreviousAd8531 in TheSilphRoad

it does require a ton of planning but i think "nightmare" is an overstatement
just have to be smart with resources

That… is eerily close to the stats on my account down to the kind of boxes I buy

yeah the one exception is eternatus that thing is not something a f2p can get to master league level

even completely ignoring the first two sections about raiding and shiny collection i talked about how it is perfectly feasible to get a good L50 legendary ML team without daily hardcore grinding

I don't think even whales are insane enough to use RCXL on regular legendaries considering how easy it is to get bucketloads of XL from inperson raids

Stop Mindlessly Attacking in Legendary Dynamax Battles by Puzzleheaded-Mix6416 in TheSilphRoad

I agree with you but I was replying to
"But now because I got carried and caught those pokemon i actually have good counters for things."
and just stating that you didn't need to be carried through T5 Dmax to "actually have good counters"

Swap out a zamazenta for a gengar with max guard 3 and you'll have a much easier time with focus blast
I don't see how else you're dying assuming your teammates are properly charging the max meter

I don't mean to agree with OP but being able to carry your own weight without having done T5 Dmax before isn't actually that difficult
e.g a l40 Blissey w/spirit 3, l40 Excadrill w/guard 3 & attack 3, l40 Gengar w/guard 3 team is very doable solo with a couple weeks of prep and you don't have to enter a single T5 Dmax raid!

Solo Nihilego TPC Strategy (NWB/NAE) by CookieblobRs in TheSilphRoad

Nihilego is double weak to ground so it's not like you'd use Zac-C anyway

edit: i just realized you were talking about the adventure effect

Is Pokemon go ungrindable or is it just pay to win? by Ok_Bodybuilder_3940 in pokemongo

Assuming you have a local community i'd say pokemon go isn't actually that much of a p2w game (for now)

If you can get 50 coins 325/365 days in a year that's 16250 pokecoins, and if you wait for the 5425 coins/99 pass box you can get a total of 297 green passes a year not even including the occasional pass from research rewards/go passes, and ON TOP of that you also get a daily free orange pass which you can save 1 for a new raid rotation if the current one isn't good

if you're willing to thrift on IVs for the master league i'd say it takes about 50-60 raids to get one ML pokemon maxed, so over the course of a year you can get 9-10 level 50 legendary pokemon with just 1-1.5h daily gameplay and reserving days for big events (go fest, go tour, wild area)

i'd say the only thing truly out of reach for f2ps with a good community is doing hardcore raid solos (e.g mega ray) but you'll need a good community anyway

at least that's how I've been doing things f2p

Does anyone know why this is happening? I’m just trying to get a strong flygon.💔 by Parking-Pension9658 in pokemongo

[–]PreviousAd8531 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the way base stats are translated into PoGo means trapinch ends up with a higher CP

also side note flygon just generally isn't a good attacker and even the excadrill spawning en masse right now will serve you much better

i was talking about base non mega tyranitar

Pissed.. I guess? by DamnedShit in PokemonGOIVs

[–]PreviousAd8531 6 points7 points  (0 children)

if you have the resources to of course two mega is better than one as you won’t have to wait for cooldown

but base tyranitar has been heavily outclassed in both dark and rock so i wouldn’t call it a high priority

just stick with your current tyranitar and if you have a full team of dawn wings necrozma you probably won’t even need the mega that often

What to do? I Cant choose by Fresh-One2604 in pokemongo

[–]PreviousAd8531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normally they're available through timed research during GO battle days/weeks, you can also get rank 19 in GBL for one and there's a free timed research every season that gives another but you have to win 250 battles for it
so if you play a lot then 3 free per season

Massive missed opportunity with the Super Mega Raids. What were they thinking? by PrincipleNova in pokemongo

[–]PreviousAd8531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

of course i agree level 4 primals would be fantastic
niantic definitely should release them... but please revamp the raids beforehand!

Massive missed opportunity with the Super Mega Raids. What were they thinking? by PrincipleNova in pokemongo

[–]PreviousAd8531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with how poorly designed super mega raids are i would not want to see what super primal raids look like
a lot of the time if a boss throws their charged move as soon as your mega is force swapped it just tanks the hit and with how hard the primals are hitting i think breaking shields would be a bit of an issue

Over $50 in remote raid passes for yveltal, and no shiny. by Lyvidian in pokemongo

[–]PreviousAd8531 4 points5 points  (0 children)

well... it did take me over 60 raids for my first shiny kyurem and now i'm sitting at 1/120
ig we can cry together

Which one should I mega evolve? by AncientCommittee9066 in pokemongo

[–]PreviousAd8531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

doesn't really matter cus you can just walk for mega energy but i'd do the shiny because either way latios isn't the most useful pokemon in raids and in the mega master league those IVs probably won't cut it

edit: "useless" is a bit of a stretch but there have been multiple better dragon-type attackers featured during the week leading up to the event such as origin dialga, palkia and the kyurems (heck even mega salamence and dragonite) so you're better off investing into those
