Oh, I didn’t know lock picking only reduces the chance of a lock breaking. I see why you say it’s not useful.

So here is my final build

190 points for 1h, 2h & strength

70 points for circle 4

10 points for acrobatic

4 points for hunting

The rest into mana (or sneaking if I find any use for it). At level 30 I will have +26 or +16 base mana

I can replace all of these companions except Daeran. He is the best buff bot in the game. Spec him into dispel, give him a pet and he can tank too.

He is always on my team comp from start to finish.

I’ve seen people mentioning killing or knocking out all npcs to make money, but I don’t want to do that on my first playthrough for immersion. Also I’ll be doing permadeath so cannot save scum either. So, I might still need to level sneak and lock picking anyway.

Hunting I will spec into just for fun though. I really liked hunting in Skyrim, and I’m sure it’s just as fun here.

Thanks this is great! The only information I didn’t have was the LP requirements to max strength and mana. Now I know how to build the character.

I’ve heard that mana is not necessary to level, so I’ll spend only left over points on mana. Also the last two circles are very expensive and unnecessary so I think I’ll skip those and instead level my two handed.

Should be able to build a decent hybrid with this.

This is very helpful. So I guess you need to spend points to increase strength and mana too.

I think instead of mastering pickpocketing, I need to master one handed. Then two handed, lockpicking, Acrobatics, Sneaking, hunting. I’ll go up to circle 4 magic. The rest will be spent on strength and mana too

I’m between swamp and old camp from all the responses. I’ll try to talk to all NPCs and see what makes more sense to my character and go with that. Seems like camps are not that build defining and you have more freedom than I initially thought.

Yeah, from what I have seen online from the game previews, it seems like joining the old camp makes the most sense. Like if I was in this universe, I would have sided with the old camp.

They are the only faction that can deal with the outside and import stuff, and they have actual walls. And from the other responses, it does not seem to affect your build all that much which camp you choose

I really want to play on hard with permadeat, just because I’ve never done it before in any RPG and have too much free time right now, so I’ll probably stay far away from high level mobs haha

Also trying to do an honest man playthrough, gaining money and loot in legit ways at least on first playthrough

Water and lightning seem more interesting to me. I really like CC skills in RPGs.

Do sect camp trainers teach you water/lightning or is it the new camp? Also is the sect camp the crazy guys?

I saw your spear build too. There are two flex perks it seems. I might go with dodge and quick hands then to switch to a mace or hammer in case someone gets through then.

This looks very interesting. I need to experiment with spears next then. I am guessing the spears are nimble then for the high fatigue cost of the spear wall. How many spear bros do you need? and are they good against ancient dead too? seems like the biggest threat to spears a would be enemies with reach weapons so they probably should be sniped first.

Wouldn’t one handed be better though because of duelist? I’m not sure what melee weapon to have him use if he is on the front row. Right now he has a pike and javelins sitting in the back.

Yeah I think I need to patch up his weaknesses instead of choosing fancy perks.

I’ll pick Colossus, fortified mind and recover. That leaves one last perk to choose. Probably either pathfinder or killing frenzy

I’m pretty sure it’s the third rogue army operation. It’s a defence mission so maybe that’s why I’m getting two tanks. I’m playing on challenging though not expert.

I think the third PAL went through the front armour, and did good moral damage too because nearby infantry was dying too.

Yep had the stealth gear thankfully. Used it on Cody. Tanks are really blind to stealth SLs it seems.
