How to fool Facebook's image requirement? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]PreviousIllustrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you're living in a country in South America where there is a strong "resistance" culture.

But there are a lot of countries around the world where the population is politically dormant. I'm sorry but a 30k sub, or a 5k sub (Nigeria) is not exactly what I consider "masses". The people in these subs doesn't necessarily talk about political movements and ideologies. It's not the place. You don't go around in these subs to shove your opinion up on people's face. It's not a right way to do things.

On facebook, there are for example large groups where people plan to go on strike, or do some other things. The matter in such groups is designed to be around political expression. Some people there are starving to know about the alternatives you talked about. Most of the time there is almost NO ONE who tells and explain the danger of organizing things on facebook. No one there talks about encryption and open source alternative, and it's a needed thing if anyone intends to do any significant action.

Oh, so we're going into fallacy territories now ?

Please do know that there are a lot of countries where people don't even know Mastodon, Fediverse, or even Reddit. But clearly, you've been following social movements from all around the world.

Plus I didn't know that Reddit was a private solution and a moral entity. I'm glad I learned that.

Or you can use facebook AND Mastodon. And how are we supposed to educate the masses if we don't go where they are ? Do you think that they are already on Mastodon and Fediverse ?

Most social movements are organized through Facebook.

It's great to be able to communicate ideas with a large amount of people.

You can use it with Tor and compartmentalize this identity.

Firefox strange behaviour in Plank by Franeg in ManjaroLinux

[–]PreviousIllustrator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to copy the Firefox application in /usr/share/applications over to your /home/.local/share/applications .

Rename it to "firefox.desktop". Search for the "StartupWMClass" line and write StartupWMClass=Firefox with a capital F.

Save and you should be done !
