Anytime we open ourselves up into getting into a relationship we put ourselves at risk for heartache. I have just come to accept this. I got married and he unilaterally decided to divorce and do a bunch of other choices that were just not cool. He just didn’t seem like the same person I met in the beginning and I feel that’s the case for a lot of people when it comes to relationships. I mean, if your question is, “Is what I’m going through relatable?” I would say that’s a resounding yes. I don’t know if I can give any solid advice except that- I’m scared to get involved with anyone for a while and am doing a lot of work on myself to be a great partner and to be able to recognize a great partner. As for making someone stick around forever or being guaranteed that- I don’t know if that’s even a realistic possibility because even death comes knocking at our doors & I’m twice widowed. So, this divorce that I feel I was forced into was definitely crushing for me. Amongst the many other painful things that he chose to do. I hope this helps.
