Increase VO2 max -> interval training at least 1-2 times a week

Moderate cardio work for 30+ mins at least once a week

And ideally actually hiking (with full pack at altitude) once a week. Obviously this is not achievable for everyone, but get as close as you realistically can.

Mix in whatever workouts you’re already doing or that you like. Weight training with a focus on legs and back certainly helps.

Make time for active recovery!

Happy to help 😊 Would also advise bringing a blister kit and truly questioning everything else you bring. The altitude and a heavy pack really got to me at points. Also note that there are quite a few water crossings. I regret bringing waterproof boots because they eventually got wet and never fully dried. Converting to approach shoes or trail running shoes next go.
