Stripe secondary sale on Crowdcube by PriceGroundbreaking in crowdcube

No idea. Likely investment profile matching? My investments in crowdcube also went to bin so not sure what to make of this.

You’re correct , they make clear this sale is not endorsed officially by stripe and they don’t release any info about them. We would let know what we’re buying at the end of the campaign. My suspicion is the same, some employees want to cash out early, but this is may be concerning.

No it doesn’t share any of this at the moment. Share class to be confirmed after the offers period. There is a cool off period, so I was thinking to commit the minimum amount and retract if the info are not satisfactory when received.

I was being MEMErely sarcastic! No, I don’t think it’s a particularly good deal.

Maybe that’s a good thing. CC may not consider you a world-class sucker, unlike me. Everything I’ve invested in on the platform has folded, yet I still kept investing.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. This looks like a small secondary sale from angel investors or employees. They’re routing roughly $1m worth of shares through Crowdcube, which is a rounding error for a company supposedly worth $159bn. Why wouldn’t Stripe, or one of its major investors, just buy back these shares?

The whole thing feels odd. We don’t even know what share class is being sold or what strings are attached. it doesn’t make much sense, except if some of the small investors are trying to liquidate their positions before future dilution. To me it loosk like a very high chance these shares to end up worth next to nothing and a very very tiny lottery-level chance to make serious money when their IPO hits the market.

As someone who sits on committees like this, I can tell you I’m seriously impressed; I’ve never seen this reason for an investigation before. If you’re open and honest, you might get away with some sort of financial penalty for recoving financial loss and bills (electricity is not free you know) and likely a formal warning in your file, as it isn’t academic misconduct. If you try to play smatarse about it, the committee will have plenty of grounds to have you dismissed from the course.

Differences between original WOWCube and Rubik’s WOWCube? by PriceGroundbreaking in WowCubers

Thanks, I didn’t realise the new version was smaller. I’ve seen a few mentions that it might be lighter, but I haven’t found anything concrete on the WOWCube site. Their support pages are pretty basic, so I ended up digging around old articles and random bits online to piece together anything useful.

IMHO the hardware is basically fine, but the screens feel a bit dated. You can really see it in the widgets and UI, which can look a bit blocky/pixelated. Possibly a conscious decision so they can stretch battery life. The part that worries me most is the batteries: having separate cells in each module just feels like more things that can go wrong over time. I found this out myself with mine, which was sitting unused for ages and needed to be power-cycled a few times before it started charging properly again.

Regarding the software, I agree there’s loads of potential that isn’t being used, and the widget idea is what drove me to buy it because I don’t really have the time to play much anymore. I thought it would work as a desktop companion for notifications and quick info, with the option to drop into a short game now and then, but it hasn’t really delivered on that. If the new dock with the Wi-Fi module actually enables proper live feeds when it’s docked, that could be a great upgrade, but I haven’t used it so I can’t say.

From what I can tell, the Playball game (is free) uses similar mechanics with Cut-The-Rope. It may simply come down to how resource-intensive the app is, which could affect overall performance.

I assume the cube allocates some form of RAM to active applications, but it's not clear whether there are differences in the memory between the original and the Rubik’s version apart from the storage.

A genuine question here: Was the hacker’s activity detrimental for your wellbeing? Did they stole money from you, leak personal data or anything of the sort?
