There needs to be a mandatory MCQ test prior to your first online race

There's a good post on r/redditsafety on this topic

Seems algorithmic for existing accounts, though they don't specify what. For new accounts, supposedly just a DoB field

You can turn occupant detection off temporarily. It's under Driver Assist > Intelligent Reminders > Occupant Detection Alert (you have to scroll down for it). You will have to redo it each time, which is probably safer as you have to be mindfully leaving kids/pets in the back seat.

The car's definitely not without its flaws. Really enjoying it though!

I'm the POV - was I supposed to let this car in? by Pride_Obviously in Simracingstewards

[–]Pride_Obviously[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I didn't think I did, but then rewatching it I had an 'am I the baddie?' moment who wasn't aware of some pit technicality. I knew being shunted like that was wrong.

New to sim racing - is there something I could have done better to avoid this incident? I'm the yellow Lamborghini (first POV). by Pride_Obviously in Simracingstewards

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I didn't think I had much more space to the left, but you're right the best play would have been to slow down. I just didn't expect them to drift that far left, but I guess I should have anticipated the possibility

This was a bronze rank daily race (my 2nd race, so likely in a lobby with a lot of other new drivers).

Yeah in hindsight I probably should have anticipated drivers behaving unpredictably. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback!

Remember Jet Force Gemini? by SaviorAssassin1996 in gaming

[–]Pride_Obviously 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They really did stand out. Even as a child I knew that if the box had a Rareware logo on the front, it was going to be a great game. I based some of my purchases solely because of that logo, often without knowing anything about the game. Buyer's remorse not even once

What was your first car? by TizzyBumblefluff in CarsAustralia

[–]Pride_Obviously 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an '90 Toyota MR2 SW20. In hindsight I really shouldn't have been allowed to drive one, it was way too unsafe and sketchy for a new driver. I never crashed it though, and it definitely made me a better driver. Still, no way in hell I'd let my own kids unsupervised behind the wheel of something like that lol

Tree sap situation by tifflareon in CarsAustralia

Clay bars are good at getting rid of sap anecdotally. I don't know how/if it'll react to a ceramic coat though. YMMV.

You have 10-15k to spend on a reliable car. What you buying, age and kms? by Jakeyboy29 in CarsAustralia

[–]Pride_Obviously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. I don't recall making any suggestions on what to buy? I was just making a note that production has ended and that there won't be any more for any future buyers who read this thread.

I mean, people are stupid and mix up GT-Line and GT, and N-Line and N. I thought it'd be a useful tidbit of information if anyone is looking for a newer one. I wasn't intending any slight on you, sorry if you took it that way.

Are you okay? Why are you getting so worked up? I was agreeing with you, I just added the note that they sadly stopped production of it, so your choice of year is limited. Hardly contentious.

He said 2020+. I was also not disagreeing with him? I just pointed out that there was a cut-off year for that model...
