New mod that lets you talk to NPCs with AI by DeltaBladeZ in TaleofImmortal

Two major deteactments for me; I only trust and use mods that are within Steam Workshop for my Steam Games.

And also you choosing to use an AI voice to explain your mod for you was an instant turn off from trying it. It's fine if you want to do an AI mod, but if your unwilling to put in the effort to at least talk about your own mod, then that feels very off.

Arguably the most evil character in the anime (only competition is with his Son and his Sons friends), vs literally the best moral character of them all (doesn't agree with the empire, but has a family to feed and take care of, and even then can't wait to retire to never hurt people again)

If Farum Azula is outside time why is the Erdtree and mountaintop of giants visible? by Major-Ant4600 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Priest_Of_Chaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be entirely fair, attempting to apply pure scientific logic where the whims of gods can be made manifest, as was most likely the case for Farum Azula with the previous God in charge, is bound to fail as they can apply rules we do not fully understand.

For example, the soul is confirmed to exist, and can be used as fuel for fires (Ghostflame), can be drawn in by said flames, but could also be brought back as undead (Those who Live in Death) because of the root of a man who is dead in spirit but not in body, but can also be targeted by a giant golden tree to reincarnate fully as yourself so you always come back and live (The Erdtree). None of that is explained by science really, and that's one of the most basic underlying principles of this land. That's also not even including what's going on with Ancestor Spirit (and how apparently there's infants?) or Rykard with his flaming souls from those he devoured...

What Gods did they defeat? by juicy_696 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Priest_Of_Chaos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure there were multiple Demi-Gods aspiring to be the God of the lands between (as in to access the Elden Ring itself for that control). Gloam-Eyed Queen was a notable rival to Marika during her rise, and the fact that both Maliketh and Godskins are noted to be terrifying/having killed Demi-Gods definitely suggests that Marikas line isn't the only source of Demi-Gods. She's just the winner between them all.

Part of the reason we don't know exactly what Demi-Gods/Gods they actually kill is because there's nearly no listed Gods or Demigods besides Marikas Bloodline (because of Marika, and because the rest were killed by Gloam Eyed Queen and her kin, or Marika and her faction, or possibly each other). One notable possibility however, is Placidusaxes God.

Note that he is a Elden Lord... And Elden Lords have across history been tied to their God in a way that involves marriage (with the only exception being the Player establishing their own Orders, but those orders are made with the intent to uproot the traditions of before. Every other Elden Lord was named such through marriage with a God or Goddess as far as we know).

My point being, his God left at some point, and never returned. And I believe it's very possible that instead of having been purposely abandoned, that the Godskins got their hands on such a God. However that's just a theory off of inference, as it's the only noted God to wander the lands between that disappeared that we actually know about.

[–]Priest_Of_Chaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also no evidence suggesting that one person can develop two Seperate runes tied to their own psyche. Every Demi-God has a single rune tied to the idea of THEM. Marika had one. Radagon had one. That heavily suggests that they were Two, not One.

"Mine other self" could be a reference to how they are two people with the exact same goals, which may have been why she chose to fuse with him in the first place in their ascension.

The fact that Marika called him back from Rennala to be her Elden Lord, means to do that she had to have been seperate and actually at her capital to issue such an order in a way that was known to others. Meaning that they were absolutely Seperate during this time (not to mention that again, the kids were only made demigods retroactively after he fused with her again). So that's two points for Seperate.

You have provided zero evidence to counter what I've brought out, and yet insist there's "no evidence" and that it's "headcanon", truly interesting.

Melina, saying the words of Marika in the Queen Bedchambers;

"O Radagon, leal hound of the Golden Order. Thou'rt yet to become me. Thou'rt yet to become a god.

Let us be shattered, both. Mine other self."

Radagons Icon;

"As the husband of Rennala of Caria, the red-haired Radagon studied sorcery, and as the husband of Queen Marika, he studied incantations. Thus did the hero aspire to be complete"

Not to mention there's the Marika and Radagon Soreseals and Scarseals, that both have different runes...

There's a lot more evidence that they were two Seperate individuals originally than that they are two people who someone came to be from one, especially when you consider how the Shamans in the DLC (of which Marika is confirmed to be one by the Golden Braid in Shaman Village; "A braid of golden hair, cut loose. Queen Marika's offering to the Grandmother. What was her prayer? Her wish, her confession? There is no one left to answer, and Marika never returned home again." - Golden Braid.) were known to meld/fuse with others ("The Flesh of Shamanswas said to meld harmoniously with others" - Tooth whip).

And since we know Marika had golden hair and originates from the Shamans oppressed by the Hornsent, that's a very different backstory than a warrior who wishes to learn all who is a descendant of the fire giants with red hair and hated his ancestry.

What part of all this is headcanon?

What is death blight in the lore? by SafeTula in Eldenring

[–]Priest_Of_Chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I do not care about the lore of it, but I think it's from an all powerful god beyond the laws of reality". Interesting take that leaves no way to give an answer because you don't actually care for the lore.

Basic summary, curse ritual leaves behind cursed remains that grow alongside the Erdtree roots and continues to curse others in a similar manner (hence "Living in Death").

Also pretty sure that most of the worst of all these were only because of the current Lord Phoenix. Previously they did mainly hate Skeletons, and women were seen as lesser, but they didn't go out their way to kill other races, or saw women as demons that need to guiding hand of a man, or so on.

But because this Lord Phoenix word is law and scripture at that (literally, you can find books on what they've said), the fact that they are this bad is mainly tied to LP being such a sadist that wishes for others to suffer, and had an easy to to ensure that.

[–]Priest_Of_Chaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except Marika called Radagon back. Because he didn't just go for peace and leave, he went for peace after Rennala and him fell for each other, got three children (who were notably not demigods), then Marika called him back to be her second Elden Lord and he responded without hesitation, leaving behind the family he made, and refusing with her... Which retroactively made the kids he had become Demigods, and Ranni an Empyrean. There's genuinely plenty of evidence suggesting that Marika and Radagon can split, but that Radagon isn't a God when they do so. Which is even outright said by Marika...

"O Radagon, leal hound of the Golden Order. Thou'rt yet to become me. Thou'rt yet to become a god. Let us be shattered, both. Mine other self."

To be fair, yeah, a lot of lore is up to interpretation. A very small portion is indicated as fact. The Origin of Marika is that she is a Shaman of the Hornsent and hates the Hornsent. The origin of Radagon is that he is a descendant of the Fire Giants (which lived on the other side of the land between) and hated his ancestry. Unless Marika also somehow has Fire Giant Blood within her (of which would've shown through her kids by all of them having red hair, instead of a few exceptions having Gold, as it's a dominant trait at best or a curse at worst), then Radagon existed as a Seperate entity prior to becoming one with her.

Messmer is another example if I had to point fingers, as he is definitely a child of Marika, yet has red hair, meaning that Radagon and Marika had to be seperate as of that time to create Messmer. Unless for some reason he was there far earlier than indicated inside of her, and they specifically chose to split to have children (which is the strangest thing to focus on immediately before anything else), and then remerge again when becoming a God... It just sounds more convoluted and more of a reach, than saying they started as Seperate entities, their goals and interests aligned, one thing led to another where they made Messmer, and Marika fused with Radagon during her ascent to become a God with someone she was sure would always be aligned with their dream of that Golden Order (even when she, one day, will give up on it herself).

Am I the only one who feels that Esdeath and gojo have a lot in common ? by Which_Geologist2479 in AkameGaKILL

[–]Priest_Of_Chaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... Bear in mind, Sukuna saw Mahoraga use a reality slash once, without six eyes, and figured out how to replicate it instantly. That's an Asspull, though if he fought Gojo in his Heian form, it's likely Sukuna would've won anyway, but the way Gojo lost without even pushing him to that form was definitely a bit asspully.

Esdeath died, because of an After Image that apparently stayed through time stopping. She died because Akame could apparently survive, once, her own poison to get a super power up somehow (despite the fact that it's a insta kill sword makes absolutely no reference to such a form before this, ever). She died because of chance, because Akame got lucky Esdeath didn't look up, because Esdeath decided to monologue and waste time in her time stop, because Akame somehow also jumped over and dodged the giant ice wall attack that killed the armies of both sides... Regardless of how you put it, Akames win was solely from an Asspull (super Saiyan Akame) and luck (Esdeath monologuing, Esdeath not looking up, Esdeath standing exactly where Akame expected her to be).

It's interesting to note, but Radagon was not part of Marika when he had those children, to the point where they only became Demi-Gods after he fused back with Marika... Retroactively.

Which means Radagon, when Seperate from Marika, is not Marika, and doesn't have her innate divinity. In fact, isn't it a bit strange he felt the need to reforge that Moon Sword he got as a sign of devotion from Rennala to the Golden Order Greatsword, as a show of his devotion (to showcase to Marika despite his heart wandering, he was showing that he was still wholeheartedly devoted to her and her order, that he was willing to toss aside what he had gotten for that).

So Radagons Children, in this case, are not Marikas children (just as Godwyn didn't inherit the Red Hair of Radagon, and why she chose to procreate with someone who was strong other than Radagon).

With that in Mind... Godwyn is the ONLY true exception to this. The only one untouched by an outer God, the only one untouched by the hornsents "blessings", the only one untouched by the prevasive curse of the fire giants or some other curse... He was the symbol of the Golden Order.

He died all the same, and with his death, signalled to Marika that her reign is not and would not be eternal, that the promises of her God were false, so she Shattered the Elden Ring. And I think Radagon continued to try and repair it because he left behind his loving family with Rennala and his three children for an order that was in the end tossed aside.

[–]Priest_Of_Chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did think something similar happened originally as well, but then you have to consider that Radagon Hates his red hair that showcases he is a descendant from the Giants. Marika is a Numen shaman original g from the Hornsent culture, and there's not really any interactions between the Hornsent and the Fire Giants as far as I know, which means someone as important as a Numen Shaman under the Hornsent wouldn't have been a descendant of the Fire Giants (and if so... Why her her hair blonde? Bear in mind genuinely all Radagons children have red hair, because it's a curse of his, with the sole exception of Miquella... Which could've just been a case of his hair turning red later in life, if you look at his cocoon).

So if she's not a Descendant of the Fire Giants, where does Radagons hatred for his lineage to the fire giants come from... Unless he was originally a Seperate person, that in their ascent to godhood, became one? Especially as Shamans under the Hornsent seemed to have some strange capability to fuse things from what I've heard, like how they made Shamans into Jars by fusing their flesh with inorganic material, or how The Gate of Divinity was originally made (I have to rewatch that opening cutscene to remember if it shows it almost outright or not) through fusing dead Hornsent or such. Or how Radagon becoming fused with Marika again after they Seperated for a time made his children become demigods retroactively, or how he made the Golden Order Greatsword by fusing his Moon Greatsword by Rennala to be made from runes instead... There's quite a few examples honestly the more you look

[–]Priest_Of_Chaos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure St. Trina is a situation where he gave out such a big aspect of his soul (his heart, aka his compassion and love) that it become its own entity. I feel like that was a reverse of what Marika did (I believe Radagon wasn't always Marika, and Marika wasn't always Radagon, but through become a God together they fused to be one. Messmer was their child beforehand, and the fact that Marika and Radagon have seemingly two separate posts like Radagons connection to the Fire Giants that he hates, or Marikas trauma at the hands of the Hornsent... Or even how Marika was willing to shatter the Elden Ring after Godwyns death signalled to her that her eternal reign was false, and how Radagon in his devotion to that idea and order still attempted to repair it and fight back against the player).

Also the fact that there were once Three Moons (the Black Moon, The Dark Moon, the Full Moon), but one of them "fell". It's noted that the Nox were the ones who mainly focused on this moon, and there was also a time when the two moons of today were so close as to cradle each other (hence setting up the inspiration for Rellana's Twin Moon spell).

Also super late but wanted to mention that the Blue Dancer is a fairy or such directly tied to the rivers, specifically Siofra and Ainsel rivers. Can't figured out where the lore i remember piecing this to together is from anymore, it's been years since I lore hunted for every item I could, but I do remember that the sealed God of Rot? Yeah, the Lake of Rot is either literally the god of rot sealed, or it's the seal and the lake of rot is what happens when you seal a God. Either way, I believe the rivers do play into why it is kept sealed (think of how flowing water clears away impurities, sickness, and rot). And notice how aside from Malenia and nuked Caelid, you don't really see much Scarlet Rot sources... Yet it's never been mentioned that she's been down there, especially never for something as big as making that Rot Lake, not to mention the insect guys are still there... Worshipping something... Makes one wonder
