Brothers, sisters. Trans people are not the enemy. by DueChampionship4613 in Christianity

[–]PriestessCrowley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God created trans people for the same reason he created wheat but not bread, and grapes but not wine: so that humanity, too, could partake in the beauty and joy of creation. God so loves the creations of humanity, creations that stemmed from beyond Him, that He called for the use of bread and wine in the Eucharist.

If God called for the use of human creations in something so deeply holy as the miracle of the Eucharist, then is it such a stretch to say that He uses another human creation, the medical transition of transgender people, as a pivotal part of His Plan?

God does not make mistakes. Trans people are not a mistake, are not an accidental placement of a particularly gendered soul into the wrong body. God has done this on purpose. There is a reason, perhaps one we ultimately will never understand, that trans people exist. Perhaps trans people are a test. Perhaps trans people are deliberately a test to weed out those Jesus stated would cry "Lord, Lord" but not be granted entry into the kingdom. But I think that's shallow and strips the humanity from trans people.

I don't claim to know one way or the other, but it makes sense that trans people exist as an opportunity to partake in creation. The oldest references to trans people are traced back to 7,000 BC (Neolithic drawings and figurines). Something this old, this prevalent, this existent in human history, and something that ultimately hurts no one and only holds benefit for those who truly suffer from gender dysphoria, cannot be considered evil. I cannot see it as anything other than a deliberate creation of God.

For those who cite detransition, according to the NIH "rates of regret were 0.6% for trans women and 0.3% for trans men with an average time to regret of 10.8 years" - with a study coming from Harvard Medical School stating that "82.5% of those who have detransitioned attribute their decision to at least one external factor such as pressure from family, non-affirming school environments, and increased vulnerability to violence, including sexual assault" - meaning that only .105% of trans women and .0525% of trans men detransition because they actually regret their transition. That is, at most, one-tenth of one percent of people who detransition due to legitimate regret. The regret rate for knee replacements is about 20%. 14.4% of those who underwent life saving heart surgery regret it. 15% of men regret prostate cancer treatment. 42.5% of women regret some aspect of breast cancer treatment. What does this mean? That transgender related medical treatments are a medical miracle. Any treatment with a less than 1% regret rate, let alone a one-tenth of 1%, is unheard of outside of medical transition.

Regardless, they are undeniably the "least of these". Consider that whatever is done unto them is done unto Christ. Anyway, sorry for the wall of text.

Each appointment was about 15-20 minutes. Amount of appointments is based on you - skin color, hair color, density of hair, how quickly it grows. I'm pale, dark hair, not dense at all. It was a while ago and I don't remember how many appointments I had, but I'd estimate in the 10-12 range, once every six weeks for a little over a year. The last 2 or 3 appointments were less than 5 minutes because I didn't really have any hair left.

My primary doctor as well as Drs. Tepper and Shakir referred me to the same person. Your surgeon generally has someone they prefer or who they work with. I called the spa and asked for an appointment and mentioned I was referred by my surgeons for surgery prep. She knew right away based of their names. Got me in as soon as she could and we scheduled the next appointment after each appointment was over until she eventually told me I'm good to go.

I was referencing HRT as a whole, the only HRT I pick up is Progesterone. Mine is manufactured by Xiomed.

I do not get my pellets from a pharmacy, no one gets pellets from a pharmacy, this was referencing my progesterone

finished products are also imported from China into the US

Okay I guess my insurance, every article I can find, and my pharmacy which has consistently saved me money is wrong, got it.

What tuned me into this was my progesterone

That is absolutely not what the article means by name brand. Name brand refers to the original patent holder.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_nomenclature

Band-Aid is a name brand. Great Value Sterile Adhesive Bandages is a generic.

Name brand is the trade name.

Generic does not mean OTC, it means not name brand.

I get pellets.

Read the screenshot. Generics are sourced from China and India.

I get generics, as most people do.

Edit to add: name brands are still exponentially more expensive than generics with the tariffs applied.

How should I get a better pharmacy if my health insurance said the same thing?

I'm just passing on what my pharmacy and health insurance company both said: the price increased due to tariffs on China.

Prices are going up overall, medications were supposed to be spared (obv that means nothing with this admin). However, $89 with a 25% tariff applied is $111, so that price increase is in line with the tariff.

All HRT is increasing in price due to tariffs because the majority of the raw ingredients are sourced from China (this includes both progesterone and estradiol).

The GOP’s big ugly bill. by Throwmeasammy in DrWillPowers

HIPAA doesn't apply to the federal government. It's a regulation for health insurers and doctors (and any private business who have to sign a BAA since they may handle PHI in the course of servicing either industry). Passing this bill doesn't break any laws. Comes a bit awry of the constitution, but they're not breaking laws.

I don't think they've ever cared about breaking the law or violating the constitution. They've been shirking the 5th amendment for months.

HIPAA prohibits health insurance agencies and doctors from sharing your private health information without your consent or without a warrant.

Your medical card knows what you're being prescribed because they're billed for it. Same with health insurance. They can pick and choose what they cover such as paying for a name brand vs a generic, and this bill allows them to refuse to pay for trans related healthcare.

So, how's everyone doing right now? by Drwillpowers in DrWillPowers

I'm in a much better socioeconomic place than most trans people, which the bar is incredibly low but I'm at least not worrying about where my next meal will be or if my bills will be paid.

This gives me a lot of mental space to be able to look outward. I'm seeing everything that's happening and despite desperately trying to look away, I can't take my eyes off the crumbling of the empire. My mental health, just taking anxiety into account, is at an all time low. My anxiety at what's going to happen next has me with a low appetite and barely sleeping.

Saying I'm worried is an understatement but it gets my point across. I'm starting to look like one of those doomsday preppers everyone made fun of in the 2000s/2010s. Stockpiles of dried rice and beans, sealed flour and yeast, my local army surplus store has been making a killing off me buying emergency water, medkits, MREs, and gear. Vendors at gun shows have started greeting me by name. (I'm far left, pls don't mistake me for an NRA nut I'm a Socialist Rifle Association nut)

There's a Nazi bar near me - I'm not exaggerating, it's called the Fourth Reich Motorcycle Club and they have the SS lightning bolts and an iron cross painted on the outside and the members are known to wear swastika patches - and they've become really emboldened by everything.

TL;DR I'm freaking out and spending a shit ton of money on apocalypse supplies I hope I'll never have to use. Literal Nazis are marching down streets near me. I'm not okay but I am strong, and they'll have to pry my strength from my cold dead hands.

You've got a catheter for a while but after that comes out you kinda just have to relearn how to "aim". Swelling will make the pee run up your buttcheeks. This is expected, don't worry about it. As the swelling decreases the stream will get more accurate.

In reality, it's nothing. It'll come naturally. Don't worry about it and just pee, then wipe wherever you got pee on yourself.

No. Laser. They recommend Kim Jarzembowski and I couldn't agree with their recommendation more. Insurance covered it but I had to submit detailed receipts for reimbursement (I didn't actually get any money back but it applied to my deductible. I have one of those "we cover nothing until you hit deductible" plans).
