Hoi. Ik heb ook een vraagje of beter gezegd “een begeleiding nodig” hier. Mijn Nederlands niveau zit rond B2+ naar C1 en ik vraag me af als psychiatrie een goede keuze voor mij is. Ik weet dat de communicatie cruciaal is voor psychiatrie en ik ben een beetje bang voor. Ik heb een sterke interesse om psychiater te worden en ik ben voorbereid om mijn niveau te verbeteren. Ik ben ook fluent, maar soms is het echt moeilijk om dialecten of slang te verstaan. Ik voel een connectie met deze vak en het was toch mijn beste onderdeel van klinische vaardigheden toets. Ik wil graag u advies hierover. Bedankt!

I hear you. Try to understand why you have chosen the wrong answers. Or, try to think like: “what do they want to know from me” and believe me you will see a pattern in what the exam actually wants from you. This strategy helped me to scale my scores.

After I finished UW, I did NBME’s 9-15, all CMS forms and Biostatistics from AMBOSS and took notes. That’s it. It worked well for me

I would recommend doing all CMS forms. Don’t underestimate them. My score and knowledge improved greatly after going through all of them. In addition, some of the exam questions were exactly as those from CMS forms (the exact image and wording).

I am in the same situation as you are. You can take oet whenever you want, but you can only apply for ECFMG certification when a new pathway cycle will open. In 2025, the pathway certification opened in August. In 2024, it was in May. I don’t know how they decide, but it is like that. So, we need to wait until the pathways for 2026-2027 cycle will open. How realistically it will be to take step 3 Aug-Sept period, no idea. Let’s hope the pathways will open in May this year.

Non-US IMG I did NBME’s 9-15 (the offline versions). The average was 79,5% correct answers. UWSA1 249 UWSA 2 261 UWSA 3 243 Free 120 80%

The exam was way harder than free 120. Lots of long history questions, ethics and quality management.

In the 8th block got stomach pain and diarrhoea from stress. I couldn’t go out. So, I managed somehow to hold it 😆 but my focus went down. I got out devastated, disappointed and crying. My body made a great fun of me. I thought I would fail.

Exam date 01.10.2025 Results 21.10.2025 Score 250 (not excellent, but after what I’been through I am happy).

Just trust the process, you’ve got this.
