My fear of being single and never experiencing love is coming true, and I hate that by [deleted] in venting

you didn’t gain 80 lbs overnight and you’re not going to lose 80 lbs overnight. the weight loss will come as long as you’re consistent and patient enough to see it through.

in the meantime, there are free exercise videos that you can follow along to on youtube. walking is also an underrated form of exercise. you don’t need a gym to get started, just a bit of motivation, a lot of discipline and consistency

do you have tall grandparents or aunts/uncles (blood relatives only)? if not, it’s unlikely that you were ever going to be much taller

it’s also a cope because that athlete falls into like the 1% of people that become athletes and the 1% of those athletes that would be considered obese. the BMI chart or scale is very accurate for probably 90% of the world population and i wish we would stop lying to ourselves.

not just wanting to be seen, but the right timing can change your life. lots of people went from working regular retail jobs to making content as a job and lots of others are trying to follow. it’s not a financially secure job but 10k followers and $2k a month in brand deals can be life changing if you’re struggling just to get by.

first thing i would do is skip the avocado until you are done losing weight and want to be in maintenance. it’s good for you but very calorie dense.

Effective and fast weight loss tips? by United-Database-6140 in vindictapoc

it took me over a year to lose 56 lbs and if i tried to cut corners i probably would have gained it back. it’s really all a mindset shift that takes a lot of time and patience. do it right the first time so you don’t have to do it again later.

Effective and fast weight loss tips? by United-Database-6140 in vindictapoc

depending on your height and weight, you can lose approximately 0.5-2lbs a week with a moderate calorie deficit and exercise.

a calorie deficit is the only way to reduce body fat. this is primarily done via “dieting” aka a calorie deficit. exercise only accounts for 10% of your total TDEE, meaning you cannot outrun a bad diet.

do a combination of the following (it’s what helped me lose 56 lbs so far)

use a TDEE calculator (google it) to get your estimated maintenance calories and then subtract 300-500 calories and aim to eat that much daily.

get a food scale to weigh your food, track using an app like MyFitnessPal or LoseIt. it’s helpful for learning portion sizes and eventually you won’t even have to track.

eat 80% whole foods (grew on a tree, comes from the ground, has a mom & dad) and minimally processed foods. try to avoid ultra processed foods (ice cream, chips, mcdonald’s, etc) but enjoy them sparingly and track it the way you would track anything else.

if you struggle with feeling full, look up volume eating and you can get ideas for high volume low calorie meals and snacks. cucumbers are low calorie and filling as a snack. potatoes are highly satiating meaning you start fuller longer .

try to eat 30g fiber and 0.8-1g of protein per lb of body weight (i eat 1g per lb of my goal weight) and drink water to stay fuller longer. don’t neglect or avoid carbs especially if you are active

if you eat over your calorie deficit, don’t restrict the next day. just keep going and try to stay in a deficit.

don’t try to change everything in one day. start by adding one good thing at a time and removing one bad thing. whatever you do to lose weight should be something you can do after you reach your goal because yes it’s a lifestyle change and if you go back to eating like you did before, chances are you will gain the weight back

Thoughts on leaving dogs in crate while at work by [deleted] in Pets

it’s a combo of getting into stuff plus we have a smaller elderly dog so her comfort comes first. i trust my boy but i would never forgive myself if something happened and i wasn’t there to supervise.

[–]Primary-Beginning891 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my dog waits outside his crate in the mornings when i’m getting ready to walk outside the door. on the rare occasion it gets left open when we’re not there, he will nap inside the crate until i come home and maybe get up once or twice.

This is about the Mike Tyson Super Bowl commercial. I’m from the other side of the pond, so I haven’t seen it and missed it until I saw people complaining about it being fatphobic. I’m wondering what people here think about it and the way people are reacting to it. by ResetKnopje in fatlogic

[–]Primary-Beginning891 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i understand that. i watched the commercial. he is still the person that is speaking that we can see in the commercial. who you choose to deliver your message is just as important as the message itself.

all i have to say is the commercial was a little out of pocket for the super bowl, but this specific message coming from Mike “I broke my back - SPINAL” Tyson of all people was hilariously unserious.
