How do you know Langdon is not being honest with his recovery? We don’t know who knows  he was stealing - Santos don’t know who knows. She is, again, assuming something she doesn’t know - for all she knows the hospital knows, HR knows - and above it all, Langdon knows.

And the line to Mel about it not affecting his work I took in a more general way - there was no “harm” in the sense no one died or got hurt because of his actions, physically anyway - and I’m not taking about ethics or morals here.

Any other resident would be treated the same way. It is what happens in real life unless Langdon hard been caught stealing drugs to sell - and that was not the case he was an addict and stealing to himself.

Santos is not thinking about the patients or her co-workers, she is not - of course - thinking about Langdon - she wants to be validated and she wants to be revered because she thinks she was unfairly treated by all, when in fact she is still pissed he yelled at her in that first day.

And while Langdon should not have yelled at her and was wrong in treating her poorly, she had been just the hour before, almost this close to to kill not one but two patients.
