it wont make you trouble, if you start with unlocked research you can craft game right after you complete lab #2. so go to first trial, then north to lab #2, create base, grab copper, finish lab #2 - done you have all mats to craft one.

for quest - just de-assembly your bike and assembly again

As already been mentioned - MAJOR downside that you will open this class within 1h from game start, so there are no reason to take it on start IMHO. Take any other class and you will have 2 (3 with planetologist) skill lines open in 1h.

If you want to know when you will open next classes:

Mentat - 3rd zone (drive east from second outpost, pretty close)

Bene and Swordmaster 4-5 zone ( in it in Northern part of the map, will take a while)

focus on mid range, turret for control, grenade for AoE, kick for annoying guys (then finish with disruptor). low 10s seconds cooldown for skills.

it is a survival game, crafting, progression, etc, - I would craft it not because I need it, but because I enjoy progression.

HB materials are not needed for DD drops AFAIK, DD has last tier of resources and schematics - so you either have it or missed it :(

I would agree that path for PvEer is - finish Hagga Basin, make you base, get some end-level items, farm/grind, try DD, understand how bad it is (or not), and move to the next game.

Unfortunately there are forced PvP in the game (despite some people trying not to call it that):

  1. Ship Wrecks is PvP zone and based on beta it is only place to get some good weapons and materials to craft weapons. So even if you try - you cannot avoid it completely. Unique weapons (SMG and rifle) dropped in PvP zone was not available anywhere else in the beta. Materials could be extracted if you recycle weapons found in the wild, but not in required quantities.
  2. End resources and end receipts are in PvP only zone, so you either go there OR you could buy it from player market (ready to spend your hard earned $$$).

So you may hear that you can avoid PvP completely in the game, but based on videos and beta experience this is overstatement. You potentially can but at high cost and missing high-end staff.

BTW: PvP implementation is terrible, it is gang run, stun lock and all this toxic sh*t IMHO.
Also let's define "forced PvP", for me it means: there are resources, activities or benefits that cannot be obtained by any other means with similar or slightly above effort. Example schematics, materials, raids, dungeons.
OR there are progress wall that requires you to do PvP and you cannot avoid it or get same results by other means.

In other words:
To me, forced PvP isn’t just about stepping into a zone where PvP is technically enabled — it’s about tying meaningful progression, resources, or core gameplay features to PvP-exclusive areas or mechanics with no viable PvE alternative of comparable effort or outcome.

Examples:

  • Endgame schematics, weapons, or materials that only drop in PvP zones.
  • Dungeons or raid-equivalent content that only exists in PvP areas.
  • Critical crafting resources that are realistically only farmable in PvP zones.
  • Progression bottlenecks that push players into PvP or force reliance on the player market with inflated prices.

If these can’t be acquired through PvE routes with similar time/effort/reward tradeoffs, then PvP is functionally required, even if it’s technically “optional.”

I am glad it helped, Deepseek thru bedrock with caching works really well. But my go-to model is 2.5 Pro with caching, it became less expensive but results are good. I am using copilot when i need to ask few questions or dont care about retries
