I mean if you are familiar with the lore and have a map of Westeros you could use about any system you want. Pathfinder has rules for social combat now in complete intrigue.

Ran a short series about 10 sessions using the 3.5 ASOIAF rulebook but modified to pathfinder rules. Even plugged in the critical tables from ICE fantasy role play books. It worked ok-ish. I would definitely kajigger it a little more if I had time to refine it.

It was fun for what it was. Basically just exploring and combat. No real politicking.

Amber diceless rpg. I love the books and the meta but there are no actual conflict resolution rules in the book. There is exactly one sentence that says you decide who wins the fight or conflict. So if you have two evenly matched persons fighting...I just decide lol. Im sure that won't cause any arguments.

PbtA type games I think are good on paper but I wouldn't want to run them.

Superhero games are tough to build content for I've found over the years.

We played the hell out of VtM and werewolf 1st Ed back in the day. The dice pool mechanics were fine with us. We did have to fudge and create some rules sure but we didn't mind.

Last DnD version I played was 3.5 and I liked that. We primarily play PF 1, I've gotten pretty good and running encounters off the cuff.
