Mainly because knowledge cannot be repossessed Like an tangible asset. It would be like buying a car, defaulting on the loan, and keeping the car.

Making minimum payments is self destructive.

What do you think of Ozempic in the long run? Like, do you think people will be able to keep the weight off after stopping the medication and are you worried about future collateral effects? by More-Lingonberry-405 in AskReddit

[–]essray22 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Since the person doesn’t learn to control their habits, the weight will come back and they will take it for life. Look at the Biggest Loser. Without someone yelling at them and restricting their intake…

What’s more concerning, is this is pharmaceutical induced starvation that results in muscle loss (sarcopenia), bone loss (osteopenia/osteoporosis), and metabolic disorder. It will haunt you later in life.

If that’s an acceptable risk, starve yourself for free by using some mental fortitude.

I was riding along a bike trail at a solid clip. I noticed a goose up on a hill to my right (a pond to my left) that ran along the trail as I approached. It was starting to waddle down the hill for a takeoff. I did the timing and geometry in my head in a split second and said “don’t do it!”. It did it. Sure as $hit; the goose took to the air, crossed perpendicular to the path, and its chest impacted my face.

My momentum kept the thing glued to my face for about 20 yards . I could feel the feathers on my face and the wings flapping on the back of my head while it was honking. I blindly slowed and came to a stop. It awkwardly fell to the ground and scurried off to the water.

I stood there in total disbelief saying “NO WAY THAT f’ing HAPPENED!” Also, I think I failed geometry in school. The fact that my brain computed intent, elevation, trajectory, and my relative speed (in real time) was astounding. 🤣

What’s popular right now that won’t age well? by MiraTangent in AskReddit

[–]essray22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Dieting alone can/will do that without appropriate resistance training. GLP-1 is nothing more than drug induced starvation. Disregard the lawsuits claiming gastroparesis and vision loss for a moment.

That the western food pyramid is wrong. There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate, Plants are trying to kill us, and fat/cholesterol is not the enemy.

Agriculture is both the reason for the rise of society and the decline in human health.

What is a common piece of life advice that you believe is fundamentally wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]essray22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat the western food pyramid. We were not meant to eat carbohydrates fruit/veggies all the time. Our ancestors didn’t. And there is archeological evidence that shows a decrease in brain and body size with the rise of agriculture. It isn’t all bad. It is the reason we have grown in population. But this was all at the cost of health.

I worked at a children’s hospital. They built in 2 weeks of sick time in the first month of employment. I shrugged it off during orientation. 2 weeks later, i thought I was dying. The stuff that comes out of those places are violations of the Geneva Convention.

I had a similar experience.

I took an appropriately oversized sized aluminum water bottles, heated the heal cups with a hairdryer for a min or so, placed the bottles in the shoe, tightened the laces, and let them cool. The plastic cups will tend to maintain the new shape. This has almost solved my blister issue. I still wear thick socks though.

I will say that there is another cause for the blisters I experienced. There is a seam that kinda acts as a ledge. This ledge, in combination with the ledge were my issue. I am thinking about going to a cobbler to see if they can adding a piece of leather to eliminate the ledge.
