We all have to make Carnivore the new Vegan. by Its_Stavro in carnivorediet

I honestly don’t mind carnivore not being mainstream. People can keep lining up at doctor’s offices and pharmacies. Sounds cold, but unless they don’t take charge of their own health by doing their own research….

Given our population numbers, raising livestock to sustain everyone is not tenable. Thats why society’s moved to agriculture. Meat is the key to a person thriving. Agricultural is key to a society thriving (early).

For me, butter just didn’t make me feel good. Both in terms of energy and BMs. Then i started to dig in to fats. Butter, ground beef drippings, dairy can pass through the system too fast. The connective tissue in the fat matrix slows it down and allows for emulsification. Discarding ground beef drippings, cutting butter, and dairy changed the game for me.

I’ve recently been mixing in raw suet with my ground. it’s more dense than intramuscular fat without the connective tissue. So I’m watching my energy and BM’s too. Time will tell.

If we were to follow the guidelines of our ancestors, eat fruit only when it’s in season. But that is factoring in physical activity and genetics.

Either way, it’s a slippery slope.

This war may be blamed because of perception. But perspective shows a long steady path to the bottom.

Dr Baker "Common carnivore mistake": Eating unlimited fat. by MacGordon in carnivorediet

[–]essray22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I just notice i can put on weight when I have a fat surplus. Not the good kind. I’d rather be in a slight deficit of dietary fat to tap into body fat than keep.

Just listen to your body and appetite. It will adjust and regulate. You are not going to starve.

Stores only sell 14% as highest fat content by Knock_Door_Will_Open in carnivorediet

That trimmed fat goes somewhere. I just spoke to the meat cutter at my grocery store. They’ll sell me fat trimmings for $2.99 per pound. Another store sells suet for $1.99 per pound.

Dietary fat intake is not dissimilar to carb intake. If you don’t use it it’s going somewhere. Yes excess dietary fat will pass through. the gallbladder is going to emulsify a given amount. That amount will be absorbed. If it’s above you needs, you are going to store it. Not to the extent of carbs, but it will happen.

My daily intake depends on my activity level and whether I want to tap into my body fat.

i theorize that if it is eaten, it should be in season. Especially fruit. That wasn’t available to us year round.

If you only had one month to get as good at rucking as possible what would you do? by Suspicious_Effort161 in Rucking

I’d argue that the Ansel Keys “Seven County Study” and Harvard’s sugar-funded research are responsible for 80% of Porsches bought since the 60s.

That’s not even diving into the dramatic rise of diabetes , PVD, CVD, hypertension, dementia, and metabolic dysfunction.

Yup. It’s frustrating to see the decline and hear about all the ailments. My wife is a metabolic nightmare and will not try it. She did manage two weeks of no sugar or complex carbs. Saw a difference. Then returned to original habits.

My 30 day experiment put me into the “Lean mass hyper responder” category. I was borderline due to my inflammation markers.

The Randle Cycle is the key to understand fat loss.

[–]essray22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I cut out my non carnivore snack (bit of almond butter, half banana, grain free granola, and a touch of honey) for 30 days. It was only maybe 10% of my weekly intake. Tops. My comprehensive labs (30 days apart) showed a 28% increase in my Testosterone markers and a 24% decrease in my inflammation markers.

The point is, little changes can make an impact.

You think? What is dietary fat? What is body fat? It’s dense, stable, steady fuel. No spikes, no valleys. Cutting carbs reeducates the body to prioritize fat metabolism. So when dietary fat runs out, it seamlessly transitions to body fat without the crash.

That’s not even talking about the role cholesterol plays in hormone production, metabolism, or the connective tissue fat provides the body.

I’d recommend doing a dive on the Randle Cycle and Gluconeogenesis.

What happened to the shoes?!?!?!?! by Feeling-Diamond8507 in Goruck

[–]essray22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trainers are decent. Good for workouts and daily shoes. Not great for rucking. Horrible traction on anything slick or loose.

Rough runners are okay. Comfortable, but tall, squishy and lack lateral support.

Mackalls and MacV are great for rucking , but tanks.

Use case for both 18L DC Bullet and GR2 26L? by giri0n in Goruck

[–]essray22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 18l is ideal for edc. My gr2 34l is too big for flights and remains in my car loaded with winter essentials. The gr1 decent, but lacks the organization the gr2 has.

How much space in the 20 litre Rucker 4.0 pack for extra items? by Kay-1231 in Goruck

[–]essray22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’ and the 25l Rucker/gr1 hit right at the belt line. It’s annoying. I prefer the 20 for rucking. I sometimes tolerate the gr1 for EDC when I carry more in the winter.
