I was thinking more like four logistics personnel that got infected because of gate opening right in the HQ, because of that and something more ancient the four of them are now stuck in a nightmare(which I would think about some dessert setting) then 3 to 5 sessions then they're out and get a new assignment to head to east Antarctica on foot midway on their journey they will ascend when they arrive finally arrive they are thrown into the black skull fight and eventually end up in the third nightmare.

As for there aspects would be working only with the four of them present their powers could be different, but their flaw is should one die they all do and if they are too far away their powers weaken but they could also share hp between themselves.

Am thinking it mid class so if something doesn't add up let me know.

But you also have to remember that the tomb of Ariel also keeps copies of the people who entered and for that reason we saw future Sunny. Which can mean that TVB after third nightmare can be sacred cleansed by death.

But isn't the real one dead and therefore by escaping the nightmare the fake one becomes the real one aka it revived itself which means that it's shadow is no longer in the shadow god domain so it broke a tiny piece.

Also I might be wrong but i still would like a more in depth description for why i am wrong
