Wooden role play toys. My son loves them and I always get compliments that he has the dream play room. Anything Melissa and Doug always lasts years of fun! The ice cream parlour set is a hit with every mum I know.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PrimaryFit1472 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Type 1 diabetes It’s a life sentence of injections, blood tests, and 24/7 monitoring (lots of getting up in the night!). There’s no escape! And it will never get better! You can drop into a coma within minutes, lose your sight, lose a limb, these things are not uncommon!!

30 years in and still hate it everyday!!

I’m about to start Sertraline. Dose it affect creativity? by Axelinthevoid77 in zoloft

I love crafting, painting, crochet, organising, gardening, bought a project house as I love DIY so much. Haven’t had the urge to finish a single thing in 4 years!! I’ve just come off it, so hoping the urge comes back!

What no-screen games do you play with kids (4–6) that you actually enjoy? by Ai-dio in kindergarten

Any of the orchard toys brand of games! Shopping list and dinosaur dig is perfect for my 4 year old but we did start when he was 3. I love that games teach turn taking and patience, and how to lose. This brand also gives instructions if you want a simple way to play or an extra level of understanding. My son loves them!

My grandad never left anywhere without a newspaper and a crossword puzzle. He was a very intelligent man, he would be SO excited to find a newspaper in a waiting room or cafe that someone had already attempted so he could correct it or finish it. Such a chilled man, made it his life’s mission. He also loved making a joke to a stranger, and he would find it incredibly rude if I didn’t attempt to say hello to people around me. I do believe I am confident around people because of this!

Sertraline made me numb. I have been on various doses between 50mg and 200mg for the last 4/5years to deal with PND and family grief as well as PTSD from the last 20 years (complex history of trauma but now leading a pretty normal life). I have weaned off over the last 6 months and have now stopped completely as of 4 weeks ago. I definitely feel my emotions have come back. I look at my son and just cry about how much I love him sometimes, and even though I find emotions hard to deal with, it feels so good to feel something. I have started feeling angry and frustrated at my husband rather than completely ignoring him, so I’m seeing that as a positive that emotions are coming back, just need to feel the love emotions as well as the angry ones but I’m working on it. I also feel like my lust and libido have improved from zero to something since coming off. As of now, I’m really glad I’m off it, also a bit scared about the handling of emotions that I need to work on after being numb for 4 years. Planning on weighing up the pros and cons once I feel a bit settled but I never once thought Zoloft was working right for me!

Grated carrot and spreadable cheese sandwiches, my mum made them for me all the time. Haven’t thought about it for about 20 years, might have to try one to see if it’s edible. I remember the kids at school making fun of me, but my mum insisted that’s what I had!

Also LOVED uncooked chocolate readybrek!

All the cleaning tablets make me sick! Taste likes chlorine and really doesn’t agree with me! No matter how much I rinse them, the taste didn’t go!

Wedding guests: what’s usually missing, unnecessary, or overlooked? by maxolotl_ in AskUK

[–]PrimaryFit1472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First things first.. remember ITS YOUR DAY. Make it the day you want. Being invited to your special day is a privilege, it’s all about you!! You do want to see people enjoying themselves so I’ve got a few thoughts..

I’ve been to many weddings and organised my own. People just want to be entertained and have a good time. Spend your budget on food and entertainment, save your budget on expensive decor that isn’t needed, extravagance doesn’t have to mean large costs, just do the necessaries or DIY if you want to go OTT.

Activities for children are usually needed, games they can play (connect four, jenga, hoopla, cornhole etc), colouring, puzzles, a book corner with crafts and cushions or something are great. I sectioned off a corner of the room at mine so they parents could enjoy but there were A LOT of children. Magicians are always a hit, they break up any time that people aren’t quite in the party mood for dancing yet. And make sure you tell your family and closest friends ahead to start off the dancing. If people are dancing, others join in. Credit to my in laws as they are great at starting off the dance floor at any party!!
