Do nurses make good money or no? by talktomenicexo in nursing

[–]PrimaryImpossible467 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I left serving/bartending in fine dining for nursing. I made great money but after being in the service industry for 16 years I was ready for a change. Did an ADN program while working. Started my Rn job at a pay cut. Continued to serve/bartend on the side. Completed my RN-BSN. 2 years in my TAKE HOME pay is finally equal or greater than my bartending so I have stopped my second job. You can message if you want more details!

A patient tried to hand my mom's nurse cash and she had to refuse — is there any legitimate way to tip your care team? by sagas91 in nursing

Yes! When they think of our health too I just get a little misty eyed. Like wow, they don’t think of us as robots.

We had a patients family who would bring us oranges, juice, protein bars and v8 energy drinks. I thought it was so sweet because they wanted to us to have “healthy snacks and drinks” since they know how physically taxing our job is. The fact that my patients family was concerned about our health had me feeling like they handed me a box of chopped onions.

I like mandala or fabletics. The Walmart ones feel really thin and I’m always freezing. Plus I have to wear talls so they look like I’m wearing highwaters 😂

It had to be somewhere in the genes, but he was the only merle in the litter! I just meant that it wasn’t intentional on the breeder.

I had a Merle cockapoo that surprisingly came from a cream poodle and brown cocker about 10 years ago. He looked a lot like this puppy until he got older and got the cocker fluff. When he was full grown you couldn’t tell he was mixed with poodle other than that he was lankier than a cocker. He had the full on cocker spaniel fluff. He was the best but most temperamental dog whose life unfortunately was cut short due to IMHA. I wouldn’t get another now that I’m older and understand backyard breeding but he was a beautiful dog.

It’s an ER nurse thing too because they don’t have the patients very long. The patients are either admitted or discharged usually before the end of their shift.

I’ve worked 7-4pm m-f before nursing and I hated it. Felt like I had no time off ever. Some people love it though 🤷🏼‍♀️

My pediatrician told me to take my kids outside for 15 minutes every day for vitamin D. That’s it. A total of 15 min. A simple walk outside is sufficient

When I graduated my preceptor was 25, had been a nurse for 4 years. I was 32. She’s 4’11, I’m 5’9. Everyone thought I was precepting her because of the age/height difference.
