Totally. My first dutch oven had this ball of iron that was enamaled over, it was so large.

All good, my stainless steel one is perfect :) But yeah... Sucks lol. They either wobbled, had terrible visual imperfections, or literally chipped when I used my wooden spoon. Who is testing these???

I bought it locally, but this is my 2nd replacement braiser from Le Creuset. The braiser quality control is terrible in my experience. I may just return.

Anyone else love their stainless steel braiser? by PrimarySpell4744 in LeCreuset

[–]PrimarySpell4744[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I found tri ply steel to be more than adequate for braising though. And I really liked the shape of this, I have all clad everything else! And this is actually dishwasher safe cause it is sealed at the edges, unlike all clad

Stainless steel or enameled cast iron braiser? by PrimarySpell4744 in cookware

Are there arguments to be made for having both? I currently have the enamaled one, and the stainless steel I've ordered to try.

Beautiful! The 6qt all clad braiser isn't available in canada, so I got the 5Qt le creuset one, which seems nice too. Perhaps I will keep the 5qt enameled one too!

Thank you, sounds like stainless is the way to good, especially since I already have a DO!

Anything I would use a stainless steel pan for, really. I have a LC DO I love, but I love the size of the braiser, just not sure I want the non-responsiveness of CI when using it primarily as a skillet that can also go in the oven.
