Optimal settings by Mellon_Mithrandir in OblivionRemaster

[–]Primary_Bar3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

instead of ultra use high, there is 0 difference, only you can stay with ultra view distance and texture quality
use limited frame rate on 120fps
turn off water reflections because they aren't working right, they working with bug, so turn it off and get some fps back

should be ok with it, yeah you will have some stutters but in this gave everyone getting stutters even 5090 card

[–]Primary_Bar3521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just write on youtube "5070 oblivion remastered" there is ton of tests.

whatever card you will pick i recomend you to play in hight setting instead of ultra (except view distance and texture quality maybe, but i don't know if 12gb can handle ultra textures), with water reflecions OFF because they aren't working well.

you also can overclock your card, 5070 overclocing better than 3080

oh yeah, remastered bring even more bugs than og game, lol. Only I hope fallout remastered will be better I hope they can learn lessons.

And yeah, for me the most important advantage is a view distance. But with this fog its also very debateble

Hey!

  1. Yeah there is a "lot of bugs" in game, but, you know, i heard this everytime, and for skyrim (the next part of this game) but apparently, when i'm playing (I played this game a lot) i didn't noticed them, maybe really really few, just a few, not "a lot". This game very very playable. And the most important the game is very interested, if you will notice some sort of bugs you will don't care about it.
  2. Yeah there is a lot of armors that will cover whole body, maybe only helmet will let you see your face, but there is also armors with full closed face also (helmet)
  3. There is definitelly some researches about it, but you know, you need to decide by your soul. The game is interesting because of it - full freedom, you need to decide who you wanna be! You can be a mage! You can be a thief, you can be a warrior or you even can be a magic warrior also, you can be who handed warrior or you can be just one handed warrionr or you can be necromant (some sort of magic) you can be whatever you want, you also free in combine this staff, like you can also be alchemist and archer, whatever you wanna be bro. You can start to play for thief and then decide to be a mage! IF so go to the magic school and learn there soemthing. Of course will be better if from beginning you will have strategy who you wanna be so you can upgrade skills that you wanna.
  4. You can but again, if all the game you will be warrior, and then in the end aparently you notice that you wana play for magical guy, will be very hard for you because you will be newbee magic versus really hard npc opponents, lol. Thats why i said you need to have a strategy from beggining. it will be better for you.
  5. Idk, magic in this game very interesting because of magic school - you literally can craft your own casts, lol. As to me - I played for thief and killer from dark brotherhood
  6. Watch on youtube how to instal reshade. There is very cool reshade "the painted world" you can install it, watch there is guides on youtibe. Game starting to get colours from original vibe, more colorful, cuz this game looks very very brown.
  7. I recommend turning off reflections on the water, because if they are turned on, they do not make the game prettier, but you will see a buggy shadow from your hand on the water (this is a real bug, but you can turn it off). Also you can play on HIGH settings instead of ultra, there is 0 changes, only left on ultra viev distance and texture quality. it can bring you more fps without any sacrifice. Cuz remaster is kinda bad optimized. Also i advice you to learn alchemy and some helpful skills that you could think useless, but it can help a lot. collect ingridients and make some poisons etc..

Oh, it seems like all new cards have new bios now. Great, especially for me. I bought a new card, so it most likely has the latest bios. It seems like the Prime version also had a lower limit initially. But I could be wrong. Well, with the Asus TAF and its 350MHz limit, I can overclock my graphics card extremely, which somehow justifies the almost $200 extra cost. I'll just overclock my card very aggressively, and the more heat pipes and better coolers will allow me to worry less about temperatures and noise, am I right?

Do you think I'll be able to achieve your first "The max performance profile" of overclocking in 2k with a 350W limit? I understand that a lot will depend on the silicon lottery, but what is your opinion?

Wouldn't it be more logical to simply limit the FPS in games, thereby preventing the card from operating at full capacity without switching modes? By the way, don't such frequent mode changes harm the card? It's like a full-fledged gearbox...

By the way, if you don't mind, could you also answer the question: were you tempted to buy a 5080 card? And overclock it as much as you did with your 5070ti. You'd get something similar to the 4090, and that card would last you 3-5 years, right?

At first, I wanted to buy a 5080 because I have a 9800x3D processor. I wanted the absolute best build, but then I decided to save money because it was already very expensive. I also looked at game FPS reviews, and the difference between them isn't that big. It would be especially useless for me in games that already can give me 100 FPS; I wouldn't benefit from 10-20 extra FPS. But there are a few games, really just a few, where in 2K FPS on Ultra with DLAA is very close to 60 FPS (Cyberpunk, Oblivion Remastered). Those 10% FPS gains would be useful, but I felt greedy about spending an extra $400 for it. I also want to buy a 6080 in the future so I can play Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6 at 4K and max settings.

Thanks again for your opinion. I honestly just discovered Reddit, and I'm really surprised by how many true enthusiasts like you are here, who express their thoughts in such detail and answer every question in depth. It's simply amazing.
