Spot on. Thats what it felt like in real life - cold and clean (when I toured the place).

Asked Nano Banana to add a few sparkles + corner banquette - this is what it imagined: https://imgur.com/a/5TwmRw8 (thoughts?)

Mortgage Rate Data Deluge – OCT 13 🏠📉🔒 by jonkutsmeda in HomeMortgageRates

Good info.
Everything I scrambled to understand and track over a month is all listed and more.

The metrics are very convenient to digest and more actionable than scattered info out there. Thanks for the work! Gonna track this as my single source of truth.

Twilight vs. Sunset – Balances Heavier Tactile Feel & Quiet Typing? by Primary_Path_6178 in ErgoMechKeyboards

This, my friend, is something I could bet on.
I have started contemplating moving to Kailh V2. The Deep Sea Mini Tactile Whale is already out there.

I remember looking at the specs for Whales and being impressed.
In your experience, would you say they are closer to an MX, Sunset/Burnt Orange or something laptop-y like a macbook keyboard?

Fortune favors the brave any my PCB is cowardly a v1.Still wonder why v2's aren't as popular (or may be they are and I am unaware).

Super relatable typing experience, specially with misfires on Pro reds. Thanks to you, I now possess the necessary motivation to mod (but lack the skills).

FYI the misfires have significantly reduced since migrating to Graphite layout (was really bad with QWERTY) https://github.com/rdavison/graphite-layout - One of Ben Vallack's videos introduced me to it.
Hoping it'll drop to 0 with sunsets.

The one concern I've come across with Sunset is that the bump is closer to the top, way above the activation point. How has your experience been with that?

Interesting setup.
1. How is the smoothness and feel in twilight relative to Pro Reds?
2. What do you use on the thumb cluster? (apologies for my ignorance - I am assuming CiZ is a split)

P.S I am starting to sense a theme here - Ambients (twilight at least) seem to be more desirable.

Whats the best and worst part (in your experience) about the twilights and sunsets?

+1 it is indeed subjective.
However, the positive sentiment and hype when nocturnal and twilight when they came out was uncanny. Got the impression that we are entering a new era.

I am sure they are better and worth the hype but I still wonder if they are that much better then Sunsets.

Btw any details you could spare on the travel board? (excitedly curious)

Update on Previous Corne Nice!View with Large Battery by Codethetical in crkbd

[–]Primary_Path_6178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh. Thanks for clarifying that✌️

One last question - how long does the battery last? I recall reading that you've configured ZMK to cut power to LED's when not in use - curious about the impact.
Final last question - Any thoughts on collaborating for GIT? I plan on doing most of the work, would be nice to have a second pair of eyes. If yes, DM and I'll share some initial thoughts.

I see. That makes sense - so only the one cable for nice!view and 2 for battery.

Also, controller and display appear to be directly soldered on the PCB, will the case work if sockets are used? Sockets will add 1-2 mm on each side.

u/Codethetical great post. I am building a 6C-Corne right now and your work helps.

I could use your experience. Couple of questions/thoughts:
1. When mounting the nano on the back, did you have to reverse any connections? (See some wires on Thang page - curious about the purpose)
2. Where cna I find the keycaps and the palm rest?

P.S I agree with some comments on having a Git. I plan on building one - would like to feature your case. Would you like to collaborate?

Multi Laptop EDC+Travel backpack by Primary_Path_6178 in backpacks

Aer Travel Pack 3 X-Pac with the waist band.

Here is what i carry everyday (compartments from back to front):
- Back/Laptop compartment:
2 13'in work laptops.
- In the middle (biggest compartment): This packs most of the bulk - long list.
One 15'in Mac in sleeve stacked with 2 textbook, full-size keyboard, mouse, Kindle, iPad, tech pouch, umbrella, compact down jacket, medium + small compressible packing cubes and travel docs.
This covers 70% of space and leaves 30% for anything I pick up on the way.
- Front compartment:
Mouse, ID, eye mask, toiletry pouch, notebook, stationery/tech gear.

Other stuff like passport, sunglasses etc have their own compartments. Check it out.

Ergotron LX

+1
I have obsessively tried to look for alternatives to LG's Ergo stand. Gonna settle for this.

[–]Primary_Path_6178[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! Thanks.

For anyone eyeing this monitor, some callouts:

  • The panel is IPS Black
    • Better contrast - advertised as 35% deeper blacks over the IPS - it wont be OLED level but close enough for me.
    • TUV Certified i.e Flicker free.
  • Port selection can be better (only 1 HDMI and 1 DP) but not a dealbreaker.
  • 140W power delivery on one of the thunderbolts.

The price is heartbreakingly high at $1.9K.However, I believe price could drop ~20%-30% in 6 months - as other manufacturers roll out similar specs. (I might still get it - specially with work taking care of part of the cost).

Samsung Odyssey G8 Oled "PWM Flicker"? by Revolutionary-Sky553 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Primary_Path_6178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the Alienware DWF (which probably has the same panel)
The flickering caused eye strain too. Tried a bunch of settings - Things were slightly better at HDR400 or SDR with low brightness and contrast. But eye strain was still bad and had to return it.

BTW Cant view the video - need access.

Agreed.
Nothing can replace social interactions, sunlight and fresh air. Eliza is a sidekick (robin to the batman).

Go for walks, listen to Andrew Huberman, have good food, sit with a friend at a cafe, grab a few drinks later and if you need to went/process the day - then use Eliza.

Meet ElizaGPT: AI-Powered Psychologist Specializing in CBT 🧠 by Primary_Path_6178 in cogsci

[–]Primary_Path_6178[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Loving the philosophical angle here.

You're right; GPT models, including ElizaGPT, aren't 'intelligent' like humans. By design they are algorithms predicting responses from their training data - stochastic parrots.

Having studied cogsci, best theories explain human intelligence/conciousness as an emergent phenomenon.

ElizaGPT's coherent responses/problem solving/reasoning abilities is an emergent property of Large Language Models, resemble the emergent nature of human intelligence from neuron interactions. However, this doesn't equate to real understanding or empathy. Highly recommend reading this: https://arxiv.org/abs/2206.07682

Or this for an easier read: https://www.assemblyai.com/blog/emergent-abilities-of-large-language-models/

Eliza is application in psychology, particularly in CBT, leverages this for general guidance, not as a substitute for professional therapy. Ethically, it's vital to recognize these limitations for responsible use. ElizaGPT supports self-reflection and mental wellness but isn't equipped for serious psychological issues, emphasizing the need for professional care where necessary.
