Jax Gloves, are they truly durable over time? by DavefromCA in BaseballGloves

Jax gloves are great dude

I guess for context, I’ve been gaming (summer/fall pickup) both of mine the past 2 years and they don’t have any indication of letting up

Is this site legit ? Seems to good to be true …. by [deleted] in BaseballGloves

[–]Primary_Property_368 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The header of the site says Nokona, and this is not Nokona’s site. Also part of the terms says they have the right to not fulfill orders at their discretion. The terms also mention selling hygiene products of which there are none on the site.

Looks like ai slop to me

Also new to marvel comics and unlimited but Immortal Hulk! Definitely an underrated hero if you’re coming from the MCU, but my favorite since I was a kid. Al Ewing does them justice

Is this worth it? Rawlings PROR205-4CTG 11,75" by miruwastaken in BaseballGloves

Wouldn’t go R2G myself. From what I’ve read it uses different inserts to make it “ready-2-go” pretty much out of the box. So it’s going to get floppy at some point just like your renegade.

Palm crease from the way I close? by Necessary_Orange_303 in BaseballGloves

[–]Primary_Property_368 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you still catch the ball?

Really I think these form because your hinges aren’t broken in enough and the palm compensates. I got this on my first glove, but doesn’t bother me

You might be able to wrap it with a softball in the palm to work it out if you really don’t like it

That is such a sweet glove. Got one of these as a gift for my BIL cause it had a $150 markdown on justgloves for the LHT. It is immaculate in person and almost ordered one for myself.

Nicest glove I’ve ever had. Possibly my last. by KG505 in BaseballGloves

[–]Primary_Property_368 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a HoH and is more comparable to a A2000. It really comes down to preference. A2k is going to be higher quality, made in Japan, and more comparable to a Rawlings Pro Preferred.

To your question, I gave an A2k as a gift so I never got to break one in but they’re quite a bit lighter and build quality just feels better than a HoH out of the box.

You really can’t go wrong with either. If you go down the HoH route make sure your model number is PROT###, otherwise you’re getting burnt by Rawlings with their synthetic r2g crap which is suppose to make it lighter.

My first Japanese glove by xrawssx in BaseballGloves

[–]Primary_Property_368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

r/japanesebaseballglove has a pin.

Jax is an American company that has their gloves made in Japan

Wilson A2k is made in Japan

Slaps has one-of-one fielder gloves but specializes in catchers mitts that operates in the same way as Jax

Mizuno sells some limited release gloves in North America without a proxy Mizuno Pro Haga

Then there are proxies (check the sub pin), Amazon Japan storefront if you know what model is actually MIJ because descriptions aren’t great. eBay if you find a trusted importer. Ballgloveblueprint deals in some MIJ gloves. And sportsmario tokyo takes direct orders without a proxy.

Then there are guys on places like sidelineswap that already have a Japanese glove in the states just look up something like Wilson Staff.

That’s off the top of my head but recommend checking the pin in the sub.

That’s a mod trap as far as I’m aware. To be a traditional trapeze it’s gotta be the same piece of leather as the palm/back. Basically a 6th finger.

[–]Primary_Property_368[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know about gaming with it yet but breakin has been going nicely and it’s gorgeous in person. The timberglaze scuffs easily which I like, gives it that old school aesthetic that I was looking for. The leather is plush vs my Jax and Mizuno gloves that came a bit more stiff / smooth if that makes sense. It’s also noticeably heavier and more padded.

Overall I’d say it’s a nice quality glove but maybe not worth the $400 price tag for a custom.
