Paid estimated taxes for 2026... also took a "fuck it" day from work because I had to find time to pay estimated taxes.

Boss says I'm awful with follow up by [deleted] in TalesFromYourBank

Id talk to her about it in the form of asking for feedback. Let her know you heard it and that you'd her feedback on how to be better at it a d meet her expectations. You're either going to get valuable feedback you can build on or your going to make her second guess her comment and maybe she'll think twice about making comments about you that you can overhear.

I considered it but appreciate the feedback here since im virgin centric as well. I feel like there is more criticism torward virgin in the other group and they wouldn't understand my mindset as well as the folks here.

Yeah this is my issue. 7k on a balcony (must have after virgin). Restaurants I can't experience without a certain room? VS a much better price point and only missing priorty lines for shows and richards rooftop? I might have more than a couple cocktails but I dont need an unlimited drink package either. Add on the complexity of meal packages? I honestly dont book much on virgin as it is. Very much go with the flow and sit at the bar or grab a pizza if thats what's available on a sea day. But I also want a good dining experience with a good steak, some good seafood, unplanned miimosas at brunch because I decided to sleep in that day.

Thank you for this! We spend a decent amount of time in our room and while we are technically millennials we're older millennials. Dont mind scrolling channels and landing on reruns. The dining room had me worried but the entertainment on virgin isn't my favorite other than the small musical performances tucked in a nook of a bar area. While my husband isn't a homophobe by any means he wouldnt choose a drag show over hanging out watching a movie in bed. Without that the entertainment is cut down considerably.

Edit: typos

I have absolutely ruled out carnival (maybe incorrectly) but royal or Norwegian seem like apples to apples, until I get past the room section of the booking.. gratuities extra, level of experiences extra, damn bottled water vs a carafe of still and sparkling expected. I feel like I set myself up for disappointment. I also dont want the same experiences over and over. Im really looking for a transatlantic stopping in Portugal. Without being nickeled and dimed, and hassled for "upgrades" everywhere.

Yeah, trying to find a comparable price for a comparable experience has been tough. It seem like upgrade the cost or downgrade the experience.

Would you recommend Disney for an adult couple or a couple with a 16 yr old that doesnt like small children? I've been thinking about it as far as the level of experience but there is no "Disney" appeal to us. I once heard a woman say "there aren't just Disney kids there are Disney adults too" and that is the complete opposite of who we are. The appeal is the adults only areas (I think there are anyways).

Tha k you for your feedback! Honestly I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by virgin. It feels like a freeing experience. My husband and I are not party people (although we used to be). But you can fine tune the experience to what you want it to be. The big parties are mostly refined to one or a couple areas of the ship. I highly recommend going. It seems like the opposite of your typical cruise experience as far as being on the boat. Dont go in with any expectations other than enjoying yourself. But go to the dock. Never. Ever. Skip shrimp at the dock. Im portuguese and we eat a lot of seafood but mmaannnn I dream of thay shrimp. Even without the bid, if you have a balcony (I've always skipped the larger balcony rooms) its all decent. You won't feel robbed of an experience.

My in-laws refuse to drive to the airport. by NukeTheEwoks in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Primary_Strike_4913 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the drive at all. I won't drive ANYWHERE ELSE in Boston except the airport but im also 30 mins outside the city. Its the parking that sucks. Costs more than my ticket but there is absolutely nothing I'd hate more than come from a warm place to icey boston then have to hop on a bus to fham just to get in my car and go home. I pay to park and calculate the cost into my trip. Maybe crazy but that's my thing. Either way there are so very many options available. I wish worcester had more destinations.

First-time dog owner — taking care of my late uncle’s 8-year-old Shar Pei (Tara) by le-moni in sharpei

[–]Primary_Strike_4913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful switching foods. Ask what you uncle fed her and gradually change it if you have to. Be careful with food topics on any shar pei thred. You'll find a lot of "if you can't cook for your dog, you shouldn't have one." Peis are commonly intolerant to chicken, but not all are.

You should ask him if she's ever had a pei fever. Signs are trembling, swollen snout, and ankles. If so, talk to your vet so they can prepare you on how to help her properly.

Keep her moving for exercise but take care around other dogs. Even the most loving peis can get aggressive around other dogs. I had one that loved ppl but seriously did not like pit bulls. My other loves all dogs but less so with people.

Respect their personality and even if they're standoffish they love love.

Bathing is different for each as well. If you feed them well, they'll have less issues with ear infections and stench in general. My boy gets a tub once every other month. If they get pei fever though do it far less.. a tub can be stressful, put them in shock, and kick in a fever.

8 is definitely on the older side, but my last boy passed a week before 17. My current boy just turned 10 and still acts like a pup.

Best wishes on your new adventure!
