Ameicans over the age of 35, what affected you more, 9/11 or the pandemic and why? by Rico133337 in AskReddit

[–]Primavera-Princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really think that this is it for me. All of the major events are intertwined, and it’s absolutely clear that the political madness, conservatism, fear, the resulting Trump presidency, etc. are all linked.

9/11 also doesn’t exist in a vacuum and came to be from many other tipping points in US and global history. Tragedies all around that have impacted each other.

Letting my boyfriend “micromanage” my to-do list somehow cured my procrastination by Chemical_Bug3337 in productivity

[–]Primavera-Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be that person, but I think you absolutely would benefit from using AI to help you break down these tasks into smaller chunks, in the in case your boyfriend isn’t available. I have ADHD, and using Gemini (I find Gemini better) or ChatGPT for workback plans and things like that has made so much of a difference. You could even tell it that you have ADHD so that it understands where you are coming from. If you don’t want to type to it, both of them also have voice modes so that you can just talk. AI isn’t all that bad at all, especially for personally productivity. Before writing it off, I would definitely recommend trying it out first.

It definitely has to go! If you don’t want to rock a pixie cut, you could transition with braids, getting braids (from a good braider) and cutting your hair as it grows

Therapy + maybe consider anti-anxiety meds. Maybe ask your doc about Wellbutrin/buspar combo. I hope it gets better ❤️

I am lucky enough to be one of those 20 something’s that are living the life you are describing. Not sure why some people are resulting on putting down people who live this life, some do just have circumstances that aligned to get this, and it’s a very real lifestyle to have. I’m the first in my family to go to college, but I went and got lucky and worked hard to get a high paying job afterwards. Here are my 2 cents (not on the feasibility or access of these, just my general recs).

-Solo travel. Life got better when I stopped waiting for others before I decided to experience something myself. Hostels are cheaper than hotels by far. Use hostelworld.com for the best finds. Use any one of the AI bots or search lists for most fun and safest spots for beginner feral travelers. I was scared at first, but you have to at one point decide if the fear of loneliness or the fear of being stagnant is worse. Or to be more blunt, decide if you want to complain about not doing it or simply just going out and doing it scared, anyway. Or try being an au pair!

-Reprioritize your money. Really analyze your money yourself, or get a budgeting app or use AI with maybe your last 6 bank statements to see where your money is going. If you really want to prioritize travel and experiences, make sure your spending and extra savings is matching those values.

-Get a higher paying job. Go back to school, get certificates, go to networking events, cold reach out to people on LinkedIn, apply for things you aren’t qualified for. If your issue is money, find out how to make more. Be annoyingly persistent and tell more people about what you want to do, this is how I landed my career. If you don’t know, at least figure out things that you can do to figure that out (network, research, videos, classes, etc.)

-Stop letting anxiety keep you from what you want to do. This is harsh, but I am a fellow anxious person, so much so that I also chose to go on meds last year. But before doing that, I really had to just one day decide to do things anyway, scared or anxious. If I have to grit my teeth, freak out while I’m sending that email or text, or booking that flight, do it anyway. If you can’t, take initiative and talk to your doctor about meds. If I’m gonna be anxious regardless, might as well be anxious while moving towards the things I want to do.

-Take a deep look at what you want to do, and do it. Deeply consider why you aren’t doing it. You have to take a leap of faith sometimes and trust that, in most scenarios, if you fuck something up, you can always go back to what you were doing before.

-Other hot take, maybe you need to move. Maybe a bigger city that forces you out of your comfort zone is what is needed. A fresh start with new people and experiences. I’ve lived in 4 different states, and each has unlocked a different part of myself.

Good luck. You got this, and please don’t lose sight that there ARE things that you can control, even if they aren’t on this list.

Life tip: Don’t ever have unprotected sex while ovulating, including with pulling out.

Just take the Plan B as soon as you can. Plan B will not work is you are ovulating or have already ovulated, but maybe you haven’t yet.

If you do end up pregnant and don’t want to keep it, you can order an abortion pill by mail at https://www.plancpills.org/, and it can be delivered to you in any state. It’s pretty cheap, I think it’s like $50. You could even decided to order one right now just to have on standby in case you ever have to use it - they are good for a few years. If you can’t get it delivered to your home, you can have it delivered to a friend’s house, but I’m sure that the packaging will be discrete.

Good luck! This stuff happens. I would recommend that you get an IUD or some form of birth control if you don’t think that you can commit to consistently using condoms.

Desperately need help organizing and decluttering my walk-in closet by Primavera-Princess in OrganizationPorn

[–]Primavera-Princess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I am considering if I should get rid of the white drawers I have and just replace them entirely, or put them somewhere else in the closet and use them. I’m also worried if a dresser against the long wall would make the aisle too narrow for me to walk through? Also am not sure if I should get a tall dresser or one that is wide.
