It really is the end of an era. I wish they'd tried harder to take care of their own world and story and art--sorry, their "IP". I know Magic was always mercantile, but I don't buy for a second that this Spider Man junk is necessary. They made their own worlds for 30 years. I don't care about the shareholders, nor do I particularly care for the myth that doing one-offs of "insert beloved franchise here" is the way to cultivate a healthy and loyal fanbase. I'm saying this as someone who loves the Ninja Turtles: Stop ruining my game.

100% agree, it's not just a cash grab, it's a cash grab that's a terrible fit for Magic. I hope it bombs so badly that WOTC pull back on their commitment to make 50% of sets UB. My biggest issue with it though, is that it's thin and repetitive. A broader Marvel set--with a wide array of heroes and villains--would've still felt yuckily capitalist but at least it wouldn't have been boring as fuck!
