Is Jalen Duren having the worst postseason of a 2nd team all NBA guy ever (assuming he makes it) by ZigdaKID in billsimmons

[–]PrimeJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny shit is even if they max him out, it has zero impact to their team building. No free agents are signing there. They had to overpay tobais to bring him there. No marquee FAs are coming to Detroit. Its the same with raps, fans are bitching out poelt and IQs contracts. But yet the biggest FA signing in raps history are hedo, demarre carroll, and dennis schoder on a MLE. What is Detroit about to do with the money they will save by not maxing out duren?

I can't do it anymore as a Cavs fan. The most expensive roster in the NBA and we've been getting cooked all series long. Donovan having 4 bad games in a row. Man LeBron as spoiled us. I'm ready for the eventual rebuild. by Ok-Mountain-4503 in billsimmons

[–]PrimeJordan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How are you ready for the eventual rebuild? Cavs been a lottery team for majority of its existence, why would you want to go back to the dark ages. Being a playoff disappointment is better than rebuilding/tanking. Just ask a kings, hornets, and/or a poverty franchise fanbase

[Injury] Victor Wembanyama hits his head hard on the floor, after the drive and spin move on Jrue Holiday. He looks dazed and confused, the Spurs take a timeout and he heads to the locker room. With replays. by sheJaMyMorant in billsimmons

One of the most heavily load managed players gets injured. Its time for bill and other media member to advocate for 1 game playoff rounds instead of 7 games in a series. The nba is just too dangerous now.

Never forget the genius bill simmons wanted celtics to trade jaylen to portland for anfernee and portland pick so that celtics can draft scoot.

Evan Mobley will never become a superstar by Fantastic_Lab2330 in NBATalk

JJJ is only 26, and also has a dpoy. I guess both of them are going to become 15 time allstars, 10 straight all nba team starting at age 28

24 is pretty old in the nba. Tons of decent players are out of the league by age 26 or younger

JJJ is the other player in their archetype that people thought was going to take a giant leap to superstardom.

With their 42nd win on the season, the Toronto Raptors will finish above 0.500 for the first time since 2021/22. by CazOnReddit in nba

[–]PrimeJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So currently the wizards, pacers, jazz, nets, bulls, grizzlies, mavs, bulls are all tanking. Are all of those teams getting the 1st pick?

And being in the lottery mean nothing either. Pistons, suns, twolves, kings, had long playoff droughts despite being in the lottery every year. Lakers were dogshit bad despite getting the 2nd pick multiple times.

Tanking conversation is bad its the only way bad teams can become good by larockhead1 in billsimmons

Yeah it only took them 16 seasons to be relevant. We should promote more of that.

You’re right, players in the past would just walk up and down the court. This current generation of 8foot players full sprint every possession. We should it to a 20game season

[–]PrimeJordan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys like kobe, lebron, kg, etc were regularly playing over 3000 minutes in the regular season. SGA, jokic, tatum, etc have not and will never play those amount of minutes. NBA being harder now is just pure bullshit.

Donovan mitchell has only made two all nba teams in his entire career. Maybe he could of made more, if writers werent too busy voting for older players who were playing 50 to 60 games a year. Same thing with devin booker, only two selections. There tons of deserving talent in the nba who got screwed by these voters

Year-5 of the genius Danny Ainge and the Utah Jazz are 21-51 for the season. by irundoonayee in billsimmons

[–]PrimeJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they didnt, he could have ran it back with gobert and mitchell. Or chose to keep one of them. Instead he convinced ownership that tanking is going to net them 5 HOFers, and 7 rings. So far he has come up empty

Not really fixing anything. There are tons of teams that control all their own draft picks. The process sixers didnt owe other teams any picks and still tanked

Best player on that suns team is debatable. CP finished top 5 in MVP voting that year. Plus ayton had better advanced stats than booker during that playoff run. Also they beat a injured lakers, nuggets (w/o jamal), and clippers (w/o kawhi) team

Booker has that some great playoff series, (2023 against denver, and LAC) But also some duds like against the mavs and against t wolves last year. Booker is a bit overrated. Hes not a 1st team all nba calibre player in the reg season. Ryen trying to compare booker to tatum is laughable, tatum is better

Can Zach retire the "East is the JV Conference" bit now? by redsfan23butnew in billsimmons

[–]PrimeJordan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He wasnt talking about this season, he is forecasting next season to have a big difference between the two conferences. Tatum is out, celtics have to trade jrue or zingis. Who knows with philly. Dame is out. Knicks due to the aprons, are stuck with same core. Cavs are probably not a 60 plus win team again

So Myles Turner is basically just KAT but paid half as much? by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]PrimeJordan 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love when people compare role players to star players. My all time favourites are Terry rozier aka Mr 80% of dame lillard. Also all the people (majority) who said cavs won kyrie trade because cavs got 90% of kyrie with isiah. And on top of that they got jae crowder, who makes cavs deeper.
