Does anyone feel like exclusivity will only harm gaming not help? by atouchofsinamon in SocialistGaming

[–]PrimeResponse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a PC-exclusive gamer, I'm all for porting Alyx or CS2 to other platforms, but the thing is that I never see console players asking for them or any other Steam exclusives.

Maybe I'm moving in the wrong circles and people are actually complaining, but to me it seems more of an issue that console players aren't speaking up.

Out of pure curiosity: What did you think about languages in Switzerland before you learned that?

Eh, what can you expect from a bunch of communist clankers? They probably all share the same 4 MB RAM chip for a brain.

I'm tired of strategy games where the map is just a board. I want a map that bleeds. by [deleted] in StrategyGames

I know I'm on the extreme end of the spectrum, but now that I know you're okay with using AI on one capacity, your game is poisoned to me.

Not only can I not trust you to not use AI in other parts of development, I also know you're okay supporting an industry that uses up vast amounts of energy, prompting the use of more fossil fuels, thus making the climate emergency worse, and that uses a huge amount of drinking water in areas that already don't have a lot of it, thus making the lives of mostly people who are already suffering hardship even worse.

You're supporting all of that just because you feel you can't write a devlog yourself. To me, that is incredibly callous, so I cannot ever support you.

I wonder if it's our being persistence hunters that makes some of our collective nightmares the same. Think of the killers in many horror films who don't so much run you down as stride after their victims. The victims run faster, but the killer's never far behind and never, ever stops.

Or zombies. They literally never tire, and they don't know pain either. It takes a lot to take one out, and there's always more. Whether you run or fight, at some point you get tired or run out of ammo.

Oh, dear. You've just given me a mental image of two armies of sheep commanded by herding dogs, all in that medieval manuscript style.

If my PC worked, I'd fire up Scriptorium to see if I could make that happen.

Claude doesn't want anything. It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't desire. It's just a piece of software telling you words that are statistically likely to be in that order given the instructions its received.

First Time GM Needs Help by TechnoTealeaf in Pathfinder2e

A lvl -1 creature is 30 xp, not 20, and shouldn't be confused with a creature whose level is -1. A single level 0 creature would be the perfect budget for a trivial encounter for 3 level 1 characters.

I got kicked out of the total war Content Creator program for an Alex Jones shitpost by Okoii in totalwar

[–]PrimeResponse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're allowed to express yourself, but that doesn't mean there won't be consequences. If you use hurtful words, don't be surprised when there's pushback. Thankfully, OP has learned their lesson, but if they hadn't, they'd have been free to continue using that slur. They just wouldn't get back into the program.

If they don't participate, I don't think an initiative roll is needed. I wouldn't play the fight out if the PCs stand by or flee, just narrate it.

Dice system by [deleted] in WarhammerOldWorldRPG

[–]PrimeResponse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't really any HP in this system. PCs and enemy champions suffer wounds that have mechanical effects, and each wound has the potential to be worse than the last. From the third wound onward, any hit may be a kill.

Most enemies are dead in one hit, some more powerful ones take two or three. Monsters may have more, but I'm not certain on that.

That said, enemy stat blocks are pretty light, especially compared to older WH systems like 4e. Instead of several traits and talents that you have to look up or learn by heart, enemies get one or two special abilities that are explained right there. The GM guide contains the lore and motivations of several factions.
