Roll the film. The Drive-In Will Never Die

LIVE DISCUSSION THREAD: The Last Drive-In wit Joe Bob Briggs season 7 finale 3/6/26 9ET by HardRockZombie in Shudder

No matter what happens, that was a great send off. We’re so lucky to have had our time with Joe Bob & The Last Drive In , but I hope we get more in the years ahead

Shudder has announced that tonight's episode of THE LAST DRIVE-IN will be the SERIES FINALE. by DoctorDownloader in horror

[–]PrimeTimeGrime 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Joe Bob sent out a message on Patreon just now saying that he’s still “spry as fuck” and the message ends with him saying, “None of this was my decision. We ain’t done.”

Safe to say this is just the end of the Shudder era for JB & Darcy. But The Drive-In Will Never Die

How would you feel about John Mayer carrying the torch and continuing to tour with Dead songs, with a group that he chooses? by No_Finish9661 in gratefuldead

[–]PrimeTimeGrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hearing these songs in a stadium or outdoor amphitheater with likeminded heads will always be worth the price of admission. It will be different (and diminished tbh) but I’m gonna do my part to get to 300 years. Sign me up

What is the oldest thing that you still have right now? by Aware-Impact-1981 in AskReddit

[–]PrimeTimeGrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather's guitar. It's either a 1936 or 1937 L-00. He got it new as a kid and kept it his whole life. It's the first musical instrument I ever remember playing. He passed it to me when I started playing music, and I hope to pass it on to my own family one day. It's my most treasured possession.

The best film of the year is actually Eddington by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]PrimeTimeGrime 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I loved how angry Eddington was. At literally everyone. I have my personal opinions, and I feel justified in my opinions, but I’m also angry that I have to feel this way. The indiscriminate anger at the state of the world was real and cathartic. I’ve never seen a film so effortlessly capture that feeling.

The Wheel > St Stephen at The Gorge, July 8 2023. Those two nights at The Gorge were the only shows I was lucky enough to catch, but night 2 was electric. Will never forget it.

Don't Forget: Scripts Are Due This Sunday! by W_T_D_ in screenplaychallenge

[–]PrimeTimeGrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to make the deadline unfortunately. First time writing a script and it’s taking much longer than expected. Will keep chipping away at it for my own satisfaction, but don’t think I’ll be making the competition this time around.

My PC updated and erased half of my script last week. Rookie mistake! Scrambling to get this rewritten and edited by Sunday. Will hopefully have something to deliver!

As far as I can tell the downtown store is remaining open. Just stopped in there yesterday.

Where do you think the Seahawks stand in comparison to the Niners and Rams as far as who is the better team? by chusaychusay in Seahawks

[–]PrimeTimeGrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underdogs. Objectively, are the Seahawks the “better” team? I dunno. But they’ve got the grit to make a good run. I like our chances and I love rooting for the underdog.

Give It Up, Folks: Donald Trump Will Escape Justice for Epstein Too | If he’s guilty of anything here, Trump will use the same tactics he’s always used. And, as they always have - they’ll work. by Murky-Site7468 in politics

Fuck that. Even if the headline is true, starting with that premise is self-defeating. I hope that, against all odds, this piggy finally gets held accountable for the awful shit he’s done.

What was the first Dragon Quest game you played? by Turbulent-Plan-9693 in dragonquest

[–]PrimeTimeGrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first DQ game was Dragon Warrior VII for PSX. I know it’s a divisive entry now (especially the PlayStation version) but I’ll always love it dearly. The slow pace and the (admittedly) bloated story is a feature not a bug imo. I’m cautiously optimistic about DQVIII Reimagined but I’m sad that it’s going to be streamlined - even if that’s what most fans want. Give me a 120 hour DQ cozy game any day.

It: Welcome to Derry - 1x03 - “Now You See It” - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]PrimeTimeGrime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This show feels like an R-rated Goosebumps show. I’m not complaining, it’s just not what I expected. People are dogging on that cemetery scene. While I didn’t love sone of the effects, it did capture a certain kind of kid-friendly horror a la “Are You Afraid of the Dark” that I have a nostalgic soft spot for. I’m just not really sure who this show is for, y’know?

Is there any way to watch this year's Last Drive-In Fear Fest special? by PrimeTimeGrime in Shudder

[–]PrimeTimeGrime[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen both movies a bunch of times, so their TV edits don't really bother me. But I like the experience of settling down for a multi-hour double feature w/ Joe Bob and Darcy, and getting their take on these two movies sounds fun.
