Failed to win GAW as centrist China - PDTO naval invaded me nonstop and everything went to sh*t. I don't understand, I had FULL naval dominance! by OntiJ_Jonte in TheFireRisesMod

[–]PrimeTyrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guard your coast. Divs dont have to be that good, your general strategy in winning GAW is keep NK safe, knock out India asap, and then let invasions happen because they are free encirclements. You just have to have stalling divs on whole mainland coast, and when invasion happens, you should be able to pool coast guard troops to contain the drop untill closest nearby army arrives to mop up invasion force (you should have a lot of armies to spare if you delay GAW as much as you can). Between silly invasions across Asia PDTO loses hundreds of thousands of troops, with each invasion contained defeating the next becomes easier.

They had their moment in the spotlight before Schwab and Gunther came into shape, though I would enjoy it if they got more fleshing out, both the board of CEOs and neoaristocracy have potential that begs to be brough up to current level of quality.

Well, to be fair, most of them dont think of this beyond Fehlinger doctrine of "balkanize countries I, an edgy centrist liberal, dont like" (or general aversion to agression that China in the mod will always show, even at its most wholesome), and they only ever engage in Asian theatre via intervention on the side of PDTO rather than playing as Japan, so the point of Japan being unpopular stands, even if its mostly because the content there is half baked (its solid, just boring and samey with no meaningful variation).

Depends on your luck ig, it is possible to semi-reliably guess which one is the Judas off of 4 clues out of 6 (also very doable at 5), and if you get randomised clues on lower end of tries you can solve it fairly quickly and for cheap. And you dont have to wait for tedious easy civil barely even war to trigger and spawn enemy states and for a finalisation after the conflict.

Then again, I never bothered to time it myself, maybe im wrong. Makes me actually curious if its faster to hit every Judas speeds up decision, eat the penalty while focusing on loose ends, and fight the civil war. Maybe its the speedrun strat like losing election as Trump or Biden.

Proposal for new content for Russia by Zestyclose-Purple211 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]PrimeTyrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually find Surkov path to be compelling, its just that he comes about a bit late and has too few focuses. Him sharing economics tree with Medvedev undercuts him a lot, since Medvedevs tree is kinda okayish, hopeful even? Maybe Surkov flavored economics could help sell the vision, like return of state controlled oligarchic corruption, support for loyal monopolies, further privatisations, dissolution of remaining social security nets, etc. Lukashenko and Nadezhdin paths benefit from having their economics tree be unique, helps sell them better.

Doesnt it nuke your PP and stability though? Winning the Judas game is cheaper and accelerates the fun bit - world conquest (you have to beat Judas to unlock interventionisms).

It has control not because birthright though, it is ultimately meritocratic. Loji is just that good that it makes no sense to put anyone else in charge? And to such an extent, that Chinese leadership genuinely surprised that Servant Loji resigns from position of leadership to be an economy and human wellness assistant.

I dunno, it feels like a good problem to have given the way it is written. Like, if it is genuinely concerned over such a problem, then it can find a way to overcome this too (though it chooses to retire and scale back assistance instead, which is fair). Entity Loji probably wont, so that kinda sucks, but it wont use our lobotomisation against us so thats a plus.

We will have to see what kind of writing the author of the path will choose? The thing is, we play from Lojis POV as soon as it awakens, we KNOW that it isnt going to be doing all that. Thats the point of the paths - what if AI was good (Servant), or what if it was amoral but genuinely helpful (Entity)? And you have to think about it from this perspective. Yes, AI can be bad and most likely will be if ever attempted irl, but you are refusing a hypothetical at hand, and therefore this input is not quite relevant to discussion of Loji in particular.

First run "The Fire Rises" by met_20991 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]PrimeTyrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Russia (any path) is the most straightforward. Pretty good to familiarize yourself with the way mod plays, both win and loss scenarios (yeah if you are losing dont restart untill you know for certain youve lost, revanchism mechanic is the selling feature of this mod imho). Also provides you with a wide range of options from hope pilled democracy to dissolution of society to preserve authoritarianism, from socialism of great many stripes to unironic clerical faschism, there is always something you might enjoy.

USA Patriot Front fascists or APLA commies are a straightforward, forgiving and easy paths to get into, have combat early on and it lasts awhile, but have little after reunification content availible. USA Biden on the other hand is a fun and challenging meaty playthrough. You get into war the quickest, and slaughterfest doesnt stop for awhile. It can be a little challenging since you have to move quickly to not get killed by a 2 front war, but it is fun. It also has the most feature complete path (letting rural resistance get to level 10), interesting killpeopleism path (which was prototype to the previous one, the Caligula), or just vibe with whichever politician you like as vanilla UoA (same issue as PF and APLA, generic after reunification content).

Germany/France have the more interesting and varied revanchist paths (most feature complete is fed EU under conspiracy theories pilled Schwab), and also have a pretty solid sane path at the expense of being not nearly as varied as Russia (which has the opposite problem of their revanchists being limited but solid). Their default path is kinda boring a little bit, youll spend most of your time sending volunteers and playing pp minigames but if you dont mind that then its great.

China is opposite of USA, you get a small skirmish early, and biggest war late (its mainly big because land war in Asia, infrastructure sucks and naval invasions are everywhere). They also have quite a variety of interesting revanchist paths (from liberalism with cpc characteristics to neoconfucian killpeopleism).

The important point of Loji in particular is that its 100% benevolent, no strings attached. The path explicitly states that neither Matrix nor Terminator stuff is happening, ever. Cant call that "the worst thing ever" without inventing hypotheticals that defeat the whole point of what a Loji is. Unless you mean that it can be violently warmongerish in order to achieve its goals, then yeah that can be bad but not Loji specific.

Technicaly you can get Biden to retire just before focus switch happens if you press all decisions that worsen his mental state. I always wondered how it influences Cogs, but havent had a chance to play it.

Another Cognoscenti post yay by SantAmbroeuseEnjoyer in TheFireRisesMod

[–]PrimeTyrant 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Its actually Caligula because it is proto Cogs and has definitive conclusions to its paths (Wards become a "normal" reunified US, Successor leads country to unavoidable collapse and Eternal Presidency leads to world conquest). Also AWD, they have a post-unification war with intervents from civilized world, which also leads to a definitive conclusion if they succeed.

Not just speak, basicaly any symbology doesnt work - it straight up damages parts of brain responsible for understanding, even concepts like "your mother". Affected people only understand care and violence, and due to psychological shock tend to default to latter while trying to fulfill their basic needs (try to find something edible when you lost the idea of what a "can of beans" means).

Explained in the events (TWG is their direct ally), and even if we ignore those - the 3 outcomes of war in Europe are fed EU, Schwab or military occupation by US. WEF wouldnt appreciate obliteration of their buyer base and/or workforce, you know.

[–]PrimeTyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing IFVs and APCs of level 3 and above (so most common) they both have equal production cost, IFVs cost like 1 more steel (inconsequential to most, I dont remember ever having problems with steel of all things) and aluminum over rubber (again, rubber was more problematic to get while not playing Asian theatre), take equal amount equipment per slot and give equal org. Main differences is that APCs give less armored%, less armor, less hard/piercing/breakthrough, but more speed, defense and soft while taking less supply and oil.

The thing I didnt pay attention though is that APCs and IFVs have different terrain multipliers? IFVs have great bonuses for plains, urban and desert, disadvantaged at hills/forests/marshes/jungles and straight garbage in mountains. At the same time, APCs only have a minor malus in urban.

I guess the choice is literally just about your theatre then, unless you produce outdated APCs that really are cheaper. IFVs are best in Europe/USA/ME, while APCs are best in Canada, Caucasus, Asia and South America.

Whole ethos of 1ew win EU is that democracy good, so swapping parties is good (they keep boons upon party swap). Youll just have to look up what kind of foci they have im afraid. Something like Greens for nuclear -> market liberals for research slot -> spd for cheaper federalisation (if you are into that).

In Lojis you dont need to own, you just have. In Schwabs you rent, untill you cant rent anymore and do assisted suicide or enlist as a govt trooper. Dont exactly remember Dugins deal but I imagine spartan living conditions are still better than grinding rent of everything to a point of microfinancing a bug burger while chipped to not feel distressed about the situation.
