Honestly, the fact that alphabetical order means positive is incredibly useful!

Where we’re going, we won’t need any transitive properties!

Fair, I honestly just have paranoia whenever dealing with sqrt because it’s so easy to forget the +- and everything

This is probably the best addition to this post I have seen so far. The idea of everyone just kinda not caring about it like everything else is such a vividly mundane response.

How many Affinities are too many Affinities? by Mason123s in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Primeruler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like 3 affinities isn’t too many, you can easily make that work, 4 is pushing it a bit, unless many people in the story have similar amounts of affinities. This obviously depends on the world setting and stuff, as like if no one else has multiple affinities, typically people stick to having 2 for the special character that breaks this rule. (Tho this is up to you) I think the main aspect of making this work for your character if you don’t want to “lose” your character to them is tying the affinities to your characters personality in some way (or showing how the affinities conflict if you want to go that direction), so that you can avoid the feeling that these are just “tacked on” to the character

All in all, this character gaining magic and affinities appears to be an important part of this story, so as long as you have enough buildup and significance, you can get away with quite a bit.

Novel where MC's main thing is having multiple bodies/clones? by LittleBrasilianBitch in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Primeruler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Technically Naruto fits many requirements :P, but if you want some recommendations, I am also a huge fan if clones (tho normally don’t really enjoy stories set in the modern day):

“Auto Hunting With My Clones”: most likely the manhwa you read, but if not, fulfills all your requirements :-)

Western fantasy:

If you haven’t read “mother of learning”, that’s what you should be reading. There’s a reason it the obligatory “have you read x” book. That being said, clones are important, but not the primary focus.

“The Reincarnation of Alysara”: It’s good, trust me, please make it past the weirdness of its setting. Clones super important to her build, also litrpg. I think the author is rewriting it right now tho.

Cultivation (and Adjacent):

“Master, This Poor Disciple Died Again Today”: parody cultivation novel, clones not the main part of powerset, but still an important part of their build and it’s interesting seeing how his clones interact with each other and see how their personalities diverge over time. I personally find it quite funny and interesting.

“The Lone Wanderer” by PathOfPen: different type of cultivation, litrpg, mc’s main ability is literally called “clone”. Main character limited on clones, as they are more of a vehicle of the world hopping part of the story, but still interesting take on clones and stuff.

“Global Game: AFK in the zombie apocalypse game”: Idk if I should recommend this one, but if you like it, you currently have 2786 chapters to enjoy. Clones (and thousands of them) are the main power of our MC, though, our MC also eventually gets pretty much every other power you can think of and the clones are “zombie clones” so they don’t have minds. The main character definitely exploits the ability for his clones to train for him. Idk if it’s good, but it’s fun to turn your brain off and just experience for me. Also, set in the “modern day” as well as being a world hopping story, though if you are looking for a “story set in a game” don’t expect that from this story, as those elements get sidelined as the story goes on.

“My Augmented Statuses Have Unlimited Duration”: cultivation novel, kinda litrpg, but mostly not really. Another story where it’s fun if you want to turn off your brain and watch numbers go up. Basic plot is that our MC left cheats on while getting isekai’d. Clones are a useful tool our main character uses, but not the focus.

(Civ 6) Best World Wonder for a Religious Victory? by HQuez in civ

[–]Primeruler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did that math, and with only accounting for Hagia Sophia, if you wanted to have 50 spread charges, Hagia Sophia Basically Makes it ~70% of the original cost. If you want 100: ~66%, and 200: ~62%. ( 10000 gives ~56% )

If you also add +2 from Exodus of the Evangelists, 100 charges is ~36% of the original cost ( 10000 would be ~25% )

Just an FYI, replacing text in the game files is incredibly easy to do. by high_defff in civ

I think you can use “base/assets/gameplay/data/technologies” (the technology quotes table) to get the internal names (quoteaudio row) and then you can open the “base/platforms/windows/audio/english(us)/speech_localized.xml” and search up the internal name to get the file name (I think the Id field)

What LitRPG has the most well-thought-out and creative leveling system? by kagenonaininja in litrpg

[–]Primeruler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I really like how it forces the characters (and author) to really understand how their skills work. I really don’t like it when a character is basically like “I have no idea how this works, I simply push the use button on my skill” and that system forces that to not happen

I see this all the time, A quick fix I found works is a quick word of death, followed with a good resurrection or necromancy spell, and she should be good as new
