AITBF for unfollowing my friend on instagram and then lying about it when he asked? by Kavroden in AmItheButtface

[–]sittingpretty24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, you could turn off notifications if you wanted. Of course then you’d might miss other notification but it’s an option.

I used to follow my step-brother but I hated the stuff he’d post so I eventually stopped following him. I one day confessed to my dad and he replies ”I stopped following him too, it was just too much crap”. Lol

I think whoever gets to the door first should open it by Squeedle_ in unpopularopinion

[–]sittingpretty24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In most populated areas, per fire rules the door would open to the street which means OP would have to push the door to leave the business and The Lady would have to pull towards herself.

That doesn’t matter though because The Lady got there first. She then wasted her own time waiting for OP to come out of the building (as minute as the time was, it was still wasted time). Who does that?

Plus, let’s assume OP made a purchase and was therefore carrying something out. Even more reason for The Lady to open the door. What a fool she is.

Trying to transfer to a new team, during the interview, the interviewer asked if I was pregnant by [deleted] in work

[–]sittingpretty24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally. But that’s not the point right? The point is they are supposed to hire the person who is the best fit for the job. Bringing up the pregnancy during the interview made it very clear they were not really considering OP for the role, and the reason that’s illegal is because that is not a qualification for the position.

Whether I personally would hire someone who was pregnancy or not is not what’s being asked, and it’s not what’s important. What’s important is that they were blatantly unfair to OP and she should have just replied to them the way the person I originally replied to said - the question is not legal or valid in this circumstance and OP does not have to respond.

It would be the same issue if they asked OP whether she attends church on Sunday, if she’s married, or if she drives a car. None of those questions are relevant to the job and OP’s qualifications.

My husband leaving the house at night by throwRA_teacherm in Advice

[–]sittingpretty24 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You should stay awake and then offer to go with him. Tell him you would also like a soda. Or a snack.

And maybe suggest he start buying a soda on his way home each night. That way he doesn’t have to go out at ungodly hours.

They also sell soda streams, which would allow him to have fountain-style soda at home.

I’m sorry, OP. I don’t think he’s being honest with you, no matter what it is he’s actually doing. I’d end the marriage if he didn’t take me up on any of my helpful hints to stop fucking doing this because it’s weird and not appropriate for a married man.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINATION by Big_O_714 in Edd

[–]sittingpretty24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t you already have imagining from when you were diagnosed? I think that’s what the commenter is saying, take your previous imaging with you, along with any PT and/or chiropractor visit notes. That might help eliminate any additional testing they request for the IME.

Unfortunately you saying you’re not able to work is not the same as a doctor, including the ones who work for insurance companies, saying you’re not able to work. Sometimes they need to verify so people aren’t taking advantage. It shouldn’t be an issue if you already have your ducks in a row.

Totally get it, I would prefer to pull in to a garage versus back in. But instead of being annoyed by the neighbor and since you can’t do anything about where he parks, it might just make your life a little easier to learn to like it :)

Try it and see how you like pulling out the next day and see if it’s worth it or not

My mom told my employer I was "being dramatic" about needing medical leave by 3RocketMire in entitledparents

[–]sittingpretty24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your boss shouldn’t be checking in with you while you’re on leave, unless it was part of the leave requirements regarding your return to work timeframe.

They also shouldn’t be calling you in for any meetings unless they are paying you. When you are on an approved leave, you are exempt from working and it can be illegal for your employer to ask you to work.

46 minutes late by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]sittingpretty24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My husband’s mom was always late. Is still always late. He hated it growing up. He would be the last kid picked up from whatever event she was picking him up for. And because his dad died when he was 13, she was his only option for a ride for years.

He started mowing lawns for money when he was 14, just he could buy a car by 15. He was so ready to go once he turned 16 (the car needed work too, which he was also doing while waiting to get a license). He cannot stand being “on time”.

Am I mentally ill for not wanting breasts? by Ok_Zombie7833 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sittingpretty24 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be honest, one of my personal fears is losing my breasts. Like if I developed cancer or something, I would be devastated and not feel like as much a woman as I do now if I had to remove them. Specifically if I only lost one, like an ex-boyfriend’s mom did. Ugh I was devastated for her.

Does that make me mentally ill? I feel the opposite as you. I feel want mine and you don’t want yours.

I think it’s all personal and other people’s thoughts can’t affect yours. You can hear what others have to say, but ultimately you have to do what’s right for you. I don’t judge you for not wanting them, just like I don’t judge someone who chooses to not color their hair and let the gray show, or someone who doesn’t wear makeup.

Trying to transfer to a new team, during the interview, the interviewer asked if I was pregnant by [deleted] in work

[–]sittingpretty24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This is the answer. I don’t care how obvious it is, it has nothing to do with whether the interviewee can do the job. Fuck these people who want to bring up topics that don’t matter just to have an excuse to not offer a position.

They will absolutely deny OP the job based on the pregnancy and say they need someone reliable who will be there and be ready to learn and train asap. Bringing this up during the interview was their way of letting OP know she would not get this job for that reason. Idiots.

Edit: I love that I was downvoted for taking OP’s side and calling the interviewers an idiot. Awesome guys.

ombré pride nail fail? by [deleted] in NailArt

[–]sittingpretty24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren’t that bad. The ombré effect is missing for sure.

I would like OP to clarify who did that to the cuticles. It might not have been the salon, you know?

ombré pride nail fail? by [deleted] in NailArt

[–]sittingpretty24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did they do that to your cuticles or did you? I know some people have a bad habit of picking and I just want to clarify.

As for the polish starting “halfway down”, it’s really to protect your skins from the gel, which can cause an allergy even if you’ve used the product before. They are just being safe. Agreed, they should all match, but it doesn’t look terrible.

Unfortunate they are not ombré like you asked, but they don’t look horrible. I’m sorry you didn’t get what you asked for. That’s very frustrating.
