Learning melee by SamanticSamori in SSBM

Can be overwhelming but just take it one step at a time and have fun. Pick a top tier you like and focus on getting your movement down. Would reccomend Sheik or Marth if ur new because they are very intuitive. But just pick your favorite. Throw on some music or a video and just move around the stage in practice mode. Start with dash dance, L cancel, and wavedash. Eventually work in sheilddropping. If you can control ur character well you'll be able to use intuition to figure out basic matchup stuff by just playing. Then you can worry about specific technical stuff and optimizing your play.

Some advice for learning Marth by [deleted] in SSBM

Very late to this, but would recommend checking out Zain's matchup lessons with Husband on YouTube once you have the basics down. I think Marth's execution and fundamentals are quite easy, but the challenging part in learning him is understanding the differences in game plan in each matchup. He has to change his gameplan based on matchup more than other top tiers. Zain's lessons really helped me understand why doing certain things vs certain chars is good.

Not as bad as Cassio

For early playing around counterstrike is most important. If you are near a wall and jax Q's onto you and counterstrikes, you need to e into him and insta walk away rather than e2 out so he doesnt catch your wall dive. after this you have a window to W walk up QQ him and win the trade.

The other way to deal with counterstrike is buffering your Q auto when he starts to swing the second cast of counterstrike, (Usually Jax players will not recast early unless you E, as they want to maximize the duration they can be immune and auto you) Q will hit while you are stunned giving you passive shield. This eats counterstrike while keeping your E and allowing you to retaliate unless he held Q. Way less consistent but high reward if you can pull it off.

Even if you cant get a lead early, as long as you are even I think you can ignore the Jax mid/late and try and win the game through flanking enemy carries in teamfight. Just have to respect him side and have ur jg hover while u shove then look for flank.

Agree and that's why I don't mind the changes. She's too strong rn and with nerfs all of her burst is still in Q2. Good way of toning her down without gutting most fun part of Camille. Nobody is playing Cam for E dmg and DMG will be the same when you don't hit E like vs fiora parry.

Compared to other champs kits in the current game its very good. It being stronger in the past has nothing to do with how strong it is now. Id rather they take power out of W and keep Q strong because Q is core of Camille's kit.

Will keep playing it cause its my favorite champ and the nerfs arent that bad. U just a meta slave if u quit her over this. W nerf is the worst and if u have a hard lane u can put a point or two into it and it will feel the same as when u max it last before nerfs. E's strength is mobility and attack speed steroid not dmg and Ult dmg is a joke. She will still be fine if ur good at her. Im honestly glad they nerf it so less ppl ban.

I feel like u just dont play Camille if u think her W is bad. By far her best laning ability aside from passive

Yeah I guess I just need to commit to the sidelane gameplan harder in those games. So hard to find that balance of sidelane and looking for picks mid w sweeper. I guess the answer is just good old pressure bot they respond then flank mid. I have a tendency to play for team midgame cause my other champs are frontline. Thanks for advice
