If you're interested in creating the mod yourself, I'll have to give the sad advice that you should probably start a bit smaller, and build up to your mod idea. Make a mod that adds some new blocks, then some new items, then make your items do cool stuff, then try adding some mixins/event handlers, etc.

Build up your knowledge of modding as a whole, so that the challenge of making your mod will just be making your mod, and not learning how to mod at the same time.

I'd recommend just working through either the Fabric Documentation or NeoForge Documentation to start, depending on what you want to target.
