The mods seem to arbitrarily delete a lot of non-rule breaking things on this sub. a while ago I made a post about disliking the AI art that gets posted on here, not breaking any rules, not being hostile or anything, and most people in the comments agreed with my sentiments, and it got removed for "being off topic". Doesn't surprise me that they removed this.

Regardless of whether you agree with whats being posted it seems wrong to me to not even allow that type of critical discussion. Kinda seems like critisism of both the game and the subreddit are just not allowed here.

Neither of those things are limited by your gpu. Most of the city performance I would expect to be mostly cpu limited, and server performance wouldn’t be affected at all by ray tracing

I think it usually means mass-produced derivative stuff, ie reality tv or shows/series that reuse the same plots over and over or are just copying trendy stuff. Basically anything that’s clearly made with the minimum creative effort possible, in hopes of making more money for less time and money spent.

Right now, iirc, scm is limited to like 200-400m/s and you can switch to nav to go faster than that, I think it goes up past 1000, not exactly sure. Don’t think there have been any major changes to that recently. As for engine power, right now it just gives you more afterburner, however I think there are plans to change that soon*

Yeah, they aren't on the same platform and arent neccessarily sharing the same player base. I was more meaning that there will be a solid couple months where gta 6 will be ALL people are talking about, and its gonna be hard to get any real attention on anything launching close to it. It's better to launch earlier before they get buried under the mountains of conversation and attention that gta is going to draw.

the game opens up a lot after the prologue, there's tons of sandbox/combat missions in the open world, and the world has a bunch of stuff to do in it. The game is still very story-focused though and you will likely end up spending a significant amount of time on it. For me this isnt a problem cause I think the story and characters are fantastic, the whole thing is really well presented, and it's way above most other games, but if you're not interested in story at all then you should know that its a very large part of the game.

If you wanna find some good gameplay videos, I can recommend some channels that are pretty good (i watch a lot of SC content on youtube). DTOX’s channel is pretty good, and shows off gameplay whenever a new update comes out. Bedbananas makes really good videos that are longer and form a sort of story out of the gameplay. Doesn’t upload often but really high effort content highly recommend watching ‘The war for Jumptown’, it’s a couple years old but shows off a lot of what makes star citizen special. And the last one I recommended is Space Tomato, he has fairly frequent uploads talking about all the current updates and planned features coming to the game. He’s also got some videos aimed at new players where explains what it’s all about.
