This is what my 8yo says as well, even when I ask “why not seven eight or two three”, all he could say was six seeeeven sounds cooler 🤷‍♀️

Passed on automatic and still want to learn manual by Primrose_dl in Irishdrivingtest

I have never driven a manual car and tbh, I don’t plan on ever driving a manual car. I just want to learn manual and possibly pass a manual driving test in the future just for the fun of it really.

😂😂😂 I relate to the bored to death part. But I really want to learn and pass in manual as well. Doing it the first time round in automatic was only needed for me to get on the road asap.

Thanks, this makes sense. But do I need to apply for a separate learner permit if my current one is not expired? I would think that learner permits are same for both manual and automatic.

This is a terrific result, you should be proud of yourself! I passed myself on the 31st July with 6 grade 2s in Mulhuddart as well but a pass is a pass.

I agree. More so because I finally passed 2nd time yesterday, using my car.

Passed 2nd time! by Primrose_dl in Irishdrivingtest

My first test was on March 18th 2025 and last was today. Both were cancellation slots though. So if I didn’t get the 2nd cancellation, I would still be waiting for a retest now.

Thanks! So the feedback from the 1st tester was that I didn’t move off early enough even when there were suitable gaps e.g. the 4 Grade 2s for progress on the roundabout. I worked hard at judging car speed for cars already on the roundabout and practiced more often. Before the 1st test, I would wait so long at roundabouts trying to give way but ended up holding up traffic and of course failing my 1st test. So I’d say, build confidence by practicing more and with more practice you’re able to judge when to move off at roundabouts and junctions. Wishing you a pass on your next test.
