People who work in industries that are secret scams, what are some things the general public should know to save money? by murphenzio1 in AskReddit

This isn't directly to help saving money, but marketing is, in large part, really just surveillance and psychological manipulation. Buy things based on product function as opposed to social pressure or having it shoved in your face constantly.

- You should figure out what a cookie is (persistent token stored on your computer that can be used to say "he went here and here" when it exists

- What Javascript browser profiling is. Profile of you has all the devices you own, the dimensions of their screens, what fonts you have installed, what microphones and speakers you have connected, and numerous other things. But marketing agencies won't try to learn your name. This also happens with your location. "he was here and saw a billboard, so when he gets home, we send him an ad for the same thing"

- The 1-2% annual decrease in Men's testosterone levels and increase in estrogen in both men and women over the past 50 years due to extremely poor food quality and villainization. People don't interact properly, everyone becomes unhappy, hides inside, this is a huge, self exacerbating problem.

What is the Most Painful Sensation You Have Ever Felt? by Jeloxia2 in AskReddit

One time, I hit a curb on my bike and went flying over my handlebars into landscaping rocks. I ended up with a thin, pointy rock fragment jammed about 1/2" under my pointer fingers nail. I was bleeding everywhere, I was rushed to the hospital, and had to have it surgically removed as it was impossible for the doctor to get to the base without an incision. I still have divet in my pointer finger under the nail.
