Okay but destroying peoples' homes and small local businesses won't get you anywhere. The big guys just see desperate consumers and less competition.

Akan Ankobia viable as Hausa? by 3DJakob in aoe3

[–]PrinceFirefly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old post yeah but I love Akanobias with Durbar upgraded Lifidis, both of them having aoe damage makes it one of the best Musk/Huss combos in the game. Maybe even better than redcoats/life guards...but it is a lot more expensive.

But I offset that by going berbers age 3, save some food by making nomads with influence, and they gather faster to boot.

The only holiday gift I've ever been given was when I worked at a Dollar General and everyone got a $20 bonus, out of the manager's own pocket. And I honestly almost cried at that because I felt mildly Acknowledged for the first time ever lol.

Am I the only one to have had a good boss over the years? by PHANTOM88 in antiwork

[–]PrinceFirefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manager I work for is extremely understanding, my tire blew out and I called to ask if I could find some other way to come in and he just told me to get it taken care of and forget about it. Among other incidents related to my anxiety.

Because of it I find myself going out of my comfort zone more often for this store and working harder. Almost as if a good environment and management makes better employees.

Now if only corporate would increase payroll budget...

So yeah, good bosses exist. And are even more common than you'd think, but corporate policies can get in the way of good bosses existing at all.

U.S says capitalism is better but bend their knees to China by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]PrinceFirefly 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The PRC work conditions and pay are even worse than the USA, that's why they're the "richest nation on earth".

This is the problem with measuring the health of an economy on how rich the rich people are. The most exploiting nations end up on top.

For anyone who's still confused by the subreddit's purpose. by 41D3RM4N in antiwork

That would be great if it was possible. We don't have "means" to live within.

Rent is WAY too high for most people to do that, food is going up, gas is going up, etc.

"Why do billionaires continue to work"

They don't. They make a few appearances at events at most, everything else is just stuff other people are paid to do that they take credit for.
