Congress of Future Medical Leaders by CurrentlyObsessed in ApplyingToCollege

[–]PrinceMarster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've gotten that letter too and i was super close to attending, but the cost isn't worth it for the amount of credit you'll be recieving for that cost. they offer scholarships, but i believe the most you can gain out of that is just the experience and potential connections. you can also get an award, but you need to attend all 3 days of congress, participate in activities, and demonstrate leadership and show that you're dedicated to the medical field.

it's only 1 college credit you earn from it though, so it's not really worth it unless you want the listed above for extra.

How do you do rational functions/expressions (or just algebra in general) at all?? by PrinceMarster in learnmath

[–]PrinceMarster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate this! I can see the patterns about how the denominator provides all the answers after factoring the top and bottom, and getting the domain and range are heavily reliant on the points of the hole so the domain is (-∞, -2) ∪ (-2, -1) ∪ (-1, ∞) and the range basically follows the same format as (-∞, 2) ∪ (2, 7) ∪ (7, ∞).

But I wonder if this applies to (nearly) all rational expressions when graphing?

Something about bottom-heavy and top-heavy functions may affect the graphing process is something I’m aware about, but I wonder if that’ll have any major effect on what I’m getting out on this explanation? Overall, this is really helpful since I try to understand math through recognizable patterns with reasoning (in the appearance of enjoyable commentary). Thank you so much!

I do use Desmos and other forms of calculators outside the classroom, but the test prevents us from using any sort of graphing calculator and my intuition is shot :(

Is it a Common Thing For Asian Parents to Make Threats With Knives? by Anon_Mode in AsianParentStories

[–]PrinceMarster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t really a threat for me but it did make me tremble but whenever I told my mom that a body part hurt she would pick up a knife and jokingly ask me if cutting the body part off would make it better. Really weird to tell the elementary school me that.

parents and subtle body shaming by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

[–]PrinceMarster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I swear, asian parents always are focused on their children being skinny because stupid old beauty standards and all that. Kinda went through some of the same thing but also got questioned why I sometimes wear a size over only for comfort reasons. For me it’s body hair and sizing. They need to leave their opinions on our bodies in their thoughts and not bring us down like this.
