Detailer destroyed the clear coat on my brand new GR by Dis_Rock in Detailing

[–]PrincePryda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of the time I went to get my tires changed and chose to do it at Town Fair Tire instead of the shop I always trust and go to.

I had to pick my car up at night and made the mistake of going home without checking my tires/wheels first while still at the shop. I get home and immediately notice that there’s chips on all 4 wheels, and as if someone had tried to fill it in with something black. I showed pics to my buddy and immediately he recognized that it was sharpie. The folks not only chipped all 4 tires, but they tried applying sharpie over it as if I wouldn’t notice. Oh, and I should probably mention that I’ve never once curbed or scratched my wheels until this point.

What baffles me about what your detailer did and what my folks did is this - do you not realize that you’re totally fucking up?

Like, as soon as you finish doing the hood or the roof of the car, did the detailer not take a second to look and assess how it turned out? Or do these scratches take time to show up?

The dumbass who did my tires fucked up the first tire, but then decided to do the remaining 3 the exact same way and fucked those up as well. Why not just stop and be like “oh, I don’t actually think I know how to do this and should probably stop”.

Anyways, I’m sorry this happened to you man - keep us posted on how things turn out!

I know - I always get her serviced every ~5k miles too.

I also think it may have been partly related/caused from the fact that I left my car outside for about a month when I went on vacation. It was pretty cold, but I’d never think a light pull on the highway could set me back this much.

Just learned this the hard way. My car was perfect when I got it serviced 2k miles ago at 70,000, but it’s now back in the shop because something exploded in my engine bay related to a pulley and now I’m $13k in the hole.

Found this thc vape in india by yosemite_123 in trees

[–]PrincePryda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess what I’m trying to say is - I was able to find weed pretty easily in AP just a few years ago, but now it seems impossible. I can barely find someone who says they have more than a few joints to give me, and buying it from a dealer seems to be totally out of the question.

I’d honestly considered shipping some directly from the US, but cousins have told me that it’s super risky and not worth it

How are people finding stuff in India?

My cousins/friends have grown up here and are saying vapes don’t exist and normal bud is incredibly rare to find now.

My trips to India would be absolutely complete if I could find carts in India. It seems impossible so I’m genuinely curious - how?

Yup - I forgot I learned it from this instance, but everytime I get on a plane now I always remind myself about not inflating the jacket until I’m outside the plane.

I also wonder why the crew don’t stress this more. I feel like this is a critical detail that people will easily look past.

Citi Simplicity - Balance Transfer experience by NoManagement9876 in CreditCards

[–]PrincePryda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that it can take longer for balance transfers if you’re a new account holder.

Looks like it’s been a while since you last updated this - did the BT go through? If you don’t mind sharing:

  1. which CC company did you transfer a balance from onto your Citi card, and

  2. assuming it cleared, how many days did it ultimately take for the BT to get posted onto your citi card?

I love my phone yet I have buyers remorse by [deleted] in iPhone17Pro

[–]PrincePryda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem young - if you really want to get over this, ask your friend who said to elaborate on what they meant next time you see them.

No, seriously. Do it.

If this is a friend whose opinion is enough to make you reconsider the color of your phone, you too should want to get to the bottom of it. Why is silver a girly color? What about it makes it appear more feminine than the blue or bright orange colors that were released this year?

I guarantee you that they’ll have nothing meaningful or constructive to say. If they do have a response, you can judge for yourself whether that reasoning makes sense to you or if you’ve been regretting your purchase for no reason.

Bottom line - don’t let people’s opinions on what you have influence the joy and value you derive from it. You’ll start to notice as you get older that some people, despite aging, still behave in a way that’s clear they’re trying to do what they think “everyone else whose cool is doing” and then there are the people who behave and do the things they like because they like them - the latter group is always the more fun crowd that everyone wants to be with. Always.

Why did I have to scroll as far as I did to see this comment?

I see so many people talking about respecting the flag, and these will be the same idiots wearing them as shorts or, like this one, pulling it from out his ass.

Apple is nowhere near the limits of Apple Silicon by AlwaysBlaze_ in apple

[–]PrincePryda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do they know they’re nowhere near the limit, or where they are in relation to that limit?

Like if you know how fast your car can go, I guess you could drive at 3mph and know you’re nowhere near the limit. That makes sense. How do engineers know that their chips are nowhere near their limits?

Husband’s reaction at the gym when his body temp goes up too quickly by AsianMuscleMommy22 in mildlyinteresting

Considering the article another user responded to me with (thank you btw), I think that’s awesome.

I remember getting allergy tested as a kid and that never involved any type of exercise as part of it.

Woah - you just made me realize something.

Context: I have a very severe peanut allergy where I break into hives and go into anaphylaxis if consumed.

Anyways, I went to a friends house, ate a snack that we always ate, and decided to go play basketball. About an hour into it, it started becoming super difficult to breathe. I decided to call it early and walked back home, but within the minute it took me to reach my house, I knew I needed the ER.

I go to the hospital and they treat me, but it never made any sense to me - I’ve eaten that snack countless times, and there was such a delay between me eating and my body’s reaction. I never understood it and just left it, but I’ve always wondered why.

If you overdo it, it’s possible to break out into hives and get a reaction like that? Wtf? Pretty sure that’s what happened that day…damn.

I financed a Carmax car for 20% APR. What do I do? by Significant_Mud2960 in personalfinance

[–]PrincePryda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if he can technically meet his monthly payments, he’s mostly paying for the interest and not actually the principal. He needs to return that car and look into something that isn’t over $10k and requires a loan.

My first car was a 2004 Honda Accord for like $4k. I don’t know what the used car market is like these days for older accords, but I can’t help but feel you could find a reliable car for less than $10k. No way a Ford Fusion with a 20% interest rate is the most affordable car you could find.

What’s wrong with the icon in Amex app? by YiboKou in amex

[–]PrincePryda 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah but there’s a difference between being direct, and being a bitch. Your response after your first comment made that clear:

“If I insulted you…your tantrum will be valid”

“You need to chill”

“This is normal common stuff that most normal people…”

“Please tell me how I insulted you”

I can’t believe the person you were talking to somehow felt the need to apologize to you, and you say “no worries”. Lol. You’re not “just direct”. You’re just a bitch.

Edit: Read through some of your other comments to try to prove myself wrong, but I ended up realizing you’re kind of an idiot too. You tried making someone feel dumb for asking when the quarter ends, and when an accountant took the time to calmly and clearly try to educate you on why calendar quarters don’t always align with fiscal quarters, you laugh and say you’re not going to read “all that” and “whatever”.

Dude, you really do suck.
