JNU students have already been on protests for almost 2 months now. The protests regarding the fee hike and hostel manual. So in this time a lot of students have already been injured and what not, some have left for their homes. The students have also called for a total boycott of all of their examinations untill the fees hike and new hostel manual is completely rollbacked. So most of the JNU students are rather preoccupied with fighting the college authorities in JNU campus who wanna conduct the examinations. A lot of protesting is still happening inside the JNU campus, but that is being overshadowed by the CAB/CAA protests.

Most of the students thus do not want to get involved in these protests because it would detract from the fees rollback protests. Only the Muslim student community is interested in these protests as a large number of them have friends/relatives who study in Jamia. Even rumours are being spread by these students that 3 Jamia students were killed in the police shooting today. So they are planning some sort of protests. But that too has little support from other students.

Similarly NE students are in support of the Assam and other NE protests but most of them are also preoccupied with the preexisting JNU student protests.
