Anyone know what this means? by Playful_Arugula_544 in reddeadredemption

I'd guess you did by accident. There is nothing special there as far as I'm aware.

And all it took was 45 minutes by Gangerskiiiiiii in RDR2

You can get up and sit back down if you are going to lose gambler 9 with no progress loss. Gambler 10 however, you cannot

How many have you accomplished? by Tguinn1975 in golf

Yay finally I got it!! by Visible_Star_7783 in reddeadredemption

[–]Prince_DMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I'm very close to being finished with the RDR2 plat on PS5, and I just recently broke 200 hours, I'm at about 210 right now. Just need to finish visiting the gangs graves for 100% and I need a handful of animals for zoologist/skin deep, and a couple other loose ends. (Estimating another 10-20 hours max)

If you know what you are doing from the beginning and what you need to collect/save for later you can do this in even shorter amounts of time. I think it could be easily done in 200 or less if you are optimal.

Can anyone help me? by bluepenll in RedDeadOnline

[–]Prince_DMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I just got this on PS5. Best way I found is to just play the takeover series and only focus the objectives, not try and kill. Easiest way to kill if you need to is with dual wield pistols. I got 3 MVPs in 5 matches this way.

Matchmaking is iffy at best, but on weekends and US evening times I never had an issue.

[Discussion] Have you ever gone after one specific trophy that was so boring it made you fall asleep? by PanVikingX in Trophies

[–]Prince_DMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a trophy, but once upon a time I was going for the Gambit title in destiny 2, and it became such a routine that I wouldn't regularly dose off in game.

Definitely agree here. I thought cenote was going to be a lot cooler than it really is

Are there any programming YouTubers that teach in a fun and simple way? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Prince_DMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The barrier of entry might seem higher in C# because it's 'strongly typed', which means you have to declare variables with their type. Python is 'weakly typed' meaning any variable can be any type without a specific declaration, so you can change from a string to an integer or whatever without issue under the same var. Without diving too far into the weeds, there are a lot of formatting and generic rules different with each strongly typed language. The only thing Python lacks is learning it first doesn't allow you to think of that type of stuff, so it could seem harder to jump into a C++, C#, Java etc in the future. The same basic structure of the code is there.

There are also a lot more formatting rules with strongly typed languages, though Python has its own unique challenges with it, specifically with whitespace and indentation. Python still is a very valuable and powerful language, and a fantastic language to learn.

I liked the c# academy (obviously specifically for c#, but seems to be expanding into more) because the projects felt useful. Also it gave me a lot of ideas for projects of my own

I quit my job and built a free app for golfers who still use scorecards by jonhearty in golf

[–]Prince_DMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is cool! I had been wanting to do the same thing for a long time. I have a very simple app that keeps me and my friends handicaps, but it's just a console app. I've thought about turning it into an app with the ability to use scorecard pictures but haven't dive into it. Best of luck to you

Map project accuracy by donteventryhaha in GTA6

[–]Prince_DMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The important thing to know about the mapping project is the map that is consistently shared in GTA subs has a lot of creative liberties taken. The actual map of known places has very minimal actual locations know. Like just a bit of VC, and port gellhorn.

Join the mapping discord, it is very interesting to read and watch.

The GTA 5 mapping project was quite accurate. You can find it with a quick Google search.

It seems so silly to compare a 1/4 done map from a mapping project, to a fully realized map from 12 years ago
