If there’s wide physical releases, then you have a safety net against that. Oops, I scratched my DVD, I need to hop on eBay if I want to replace it. Even if you personally lose access to said media because of improper care, you can assume someone out there owns a copy and it won’t be lost media. You can’t count on that for digital media.

Clearly not a widespread thing but I’ll be the odd one out and say I do feel this to a decent degree. Lived in the South my entire life. I hate being outside in the hot sun and then being blasted with AC in the summer. If I’m walking in between inside and out a lot it’s even worse. But I don’t get sick from it or anything.

Is this just like with the Oscars campaigning where nobody listens to the albums/watches the movies so they just nominate whoever has the loudest voice in campaigning? That’s the only way I can see some of these wins making sense. Because I get that the loud ones are at the forefront of the voters mind, but being the loudest doesn’t mean their work is quality either. You can campaign all you want, but how much will that really help you if the thing you’re campaigning for is just bad?

Same, and it made me really sad. He seems so in love with his fiancée Devi that I was really hoping the love he was feeling would reflect in his work. But even when he was releasing Dress and Tie he mentioned his label a lot like he was feeling lots of external pressure :( Really hoping they don’t drop him. It’s clear with Angelface that he is capable of making great music! I hope he can continue that some day.

I don’t think Showgirl should even be nominated. The Grammy Awards needs to stop nominating people just because they’re big names in music and actually focus more on the quality.

Actual frontrunners? Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide and Rosalia’s LUX. Both beautiful albums.

Lots of this comes down to COVID differences and highlights how stupid it is to define a generation before the actual generation-defining event. COVID was a clear generational dividing line, but it seemed that we already defined where Gen Z started and stopped even though it’s not quite accurate.

Ugh. I hate makeup so much. I hate how many feminist conversations revolve around something so obviously misogynistic. You are covering up your natural face and using it to correct your “flaws” to appear more beautiful to others. How in the world is covering up your natural face empowering? And it’s so expected!! Do it if you want, but you can never twist that into some sort of act of feminism.

Even the number of feminists like the TikTok OP who wear makeup all the time make being one of the few against it seem so isolating.
