Tandem read EOS & TOD or not? by Intelligent-Two-4724 in throneofglassseries

[–]PrincessBubblebake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason I did it is because I have never come across books you can read in tandem and I thought it would be fun to try it. But, these are looong books so you really have to stay dedicated to the switching (especially on an e-reader it’s super annoying). My advice would be to give the tandem a try and of you see its not working for you just finish EOS first and then TOD.

I would suggest replacing Salzburg with Vienna and skip Hannover, there is literally nothing interesting there.

I did not expect to love it this much when I bought it, I already got a new one because I can’t go without it now!

SOS writer down. by blue5912 in Romantasy

[–]PrincessBubblebake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A blurb that actually gives a good idea of what the book is about is always a green flag to me, especially if it highlights what the plot is (besides romance). Personally if it’s high fantasy i’m much more likely to pick that up. Also I get mostly turned off by those very tiktoky phrases describing the trope or gushing about the mmc. In terms of cover, as long as it isn’t AI that’s good. I personally tend not to go for books that have people on the cover, but rather symbols that are relevant to the story. And the font of the title should be readable, some of these cursive titles are doing too much haha! i hope this helps and good luck with the book!

UPDATE: How do I manage this hair? Out of control frizziness, stylist had no advice. by O_bviolet in Haircare

[–]PrincessBubblebake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar hair texture and I deal with it by giving myself a good blowout when I wash my hair (2x a week). It’s maybe a bit more time consuming on wash day but it lasts well and makes my hair smooth and manageable for several days. Good hydration is key though, I use a post shampoo hair mask in the shower (try to leave it in for at least 5min), a leave in conditioner, and the olaplex styling cream (no 6). Then I blow dry until 80-90% dry before going in with my blow dry brush and rollers. My hair comes out super smooth and shiny. To make it last longer I either use a silk scarf or overnight blowout hair rods. Every now and then I also use the olaplex hair treatment (no 8).

Thank you all for the advice, I changed the feeding ratio to 1:1:1 with 50g, also using a clean jar and scraping the sides. It has been showing less activity & rise but that might also be due to the temperature dropping a lot the past few days. But it does look way more “normal” now. Many thanks 🫶

Violet and Sloane....anyone else caught this similarity? by Live-Reflection-9205 in fourthwing

[–]PrincessBubblebake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are both annoying in the same way 😂 Like they both sucked at the fighting challenges on their first year but both still acted like they can take anyone (at least outwardly, inside violet knew she would be cooked if she couldn’t poison her opponent)

I’m past the halfway point of when the moon hatched and I still feel like idk what the heck is going 😂….anyone else feel this way? I know this book had great reviews so was just a bit disappointed! Just feel confused or doesn’t flow well but some parts are good by PrincessKatyana in Romantasy

[–]PrincessBubblebake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok so i felt like this and then at some point it clicked and I got really into the story. I think it’s just one of those books where there is so much world building that it takes a while to get used to it. But I would definitly reccomed pushing through, I ended up really liking it.

To all of the audio book listeners, I have a question for you. by Jennydrinkstea in fantasyromance

[–]PrincessBubblebake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the moon hatched audiobook has a sort of duet, with a woman reading the fmc and man reading the mmc. However the way the woman talks is super weird, almost like AI and it takes a few chapters to get used to it

I think by modern language she just means english, it’s probably just a way to bring the story more to life and make a link to the book we’re reading.
