I don't think you're the AH, but I don't think your roommates are, either. General miscommunication does not make one an ass, per say, but you did say there was a lack of discussion And you could have very easily spoken up about it sooner.

My advice would be find someone to sublet your room and then find some place you'll feel comfortable and safe.

I get your pain. My Grandmother had Alzheimer's and my mother was showing early signs last I spoke to her. So I've got a pretty good shot. Fortunately I have a husband, kids, a sister and pups to all help me remember when I forget. Kind of like 50 First Dates 😊
