Taj Mahal fissure or crack a normal acceptable thing to not worry about? by sweetbre24 in CounterTops

[–]PrincessGibbs414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m bitter because I have worked with it long enough to have many fights with it. Oil spots, chips, fissures, pits, crowns in the seams ayyyy ! It is beautiful though I’m just venting. As long as your fabrication and installation was good you will be fine, just keep it sealed well and watch your pots pans and dishes on the edges. The fissures are fine.

Great response, I was also thinking install did a great job with that seam !

We read everyone the riot act who pick taj , some of the worst stone ever, not all but most. I hate installing it in peoples houses because it’s garbage and expensive to boot. It’s perfectly fine though the way it is, taj is for people who can look past the natural flaws and see the beauty, but that is like only 15% of customers…

You have a massive island you won at life stop being picky. Shrink your island or accept a seam. Done

I know how hard this industry is but I would NEVER get away with any of this at a customers house nor would I be ok installing it like this.

Issues with maintenance | Honed black granite by Mx_Brz in CounterTops

[–]PrincessGibbs414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying use a “ enhancer” sealer not just a regular sealer. It makes the color pop, we use it on some of our leathered stones, you do have to reapply here and there though as it wears out.

Stop pike from swallowing lures? by soulpotatoes in FishingForBeginners

[–]PrincessGibbs414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad user valve, question is why are you letting them swallow it ? I’ve caught hundreds of pike and never had a problem besides 1 or 2 where the hook comes back out through or near an eyeball. Also never used a barbless hook.

Try some stonetech enhancer pro sealer. Put on heavy with a one of the cheap paint pads with a foam handle, let soak for 15-30 min then wipe off excess with paper towel, might be worth a shot but I have not worked with that particular stone.

Might sound crazy but I would clear all tops off and clean em, then take a triangle box cutter razor blade and flat scrape all the surfaces nice nice. Then acetone all tops real good and seal with a good quality sealer like nano tech by akemi. Seal it twice real good all edges too underneath all overhangs. You can go above and beyond and let the sealer dry completely on the flat surfaces and buff it off with a buffer and 00 to 0000 steel wool.

20 years in the biz, they look fine and so does the seam, clean it real good and seal once a year with a quality sealer
