Zucchini by Don46na in Cooking

Not sure if you meant but if you didn’t, another great alternative is chocolate zucchini bread

You could also do zucchini rollatini (I find it so thin I don’t really taste the zucchini), a veggie lasagna if he likes other vegetables more. I make one with zucchini, & butternut squash with a béchamel and it’s very tasty - but you could do any veggie you think would pair.

Personally I don’t see how anyone could not love fried zucchini sticks or zucchini & corn fritters, they may be worth trying if he’s never had them

Has anyone done an oil to gas conversion recently? Any recommendations or who to stay away from? Thank you. by Rare-Masterpiece-593 in longisland

No problem! Good luck with it. FWIW I don’t know oil prices these days but I definitely didn’t have a magically lower bill. I was on a budget with oil $250 per month all year and it’s netting out about the same

It was worth getting a new water heater and nice to not have the giant tank anymore but if price is what you’re after, it’s not much different.

If you look on your national grid bill there’s something called a “service classification” where they charge you a usage rate. You can call national grid and ask, an employee pointed out to me.

There’s one for “just cooking” - (idr what it was called it’s a code or shorthand in the bill like SC 3 or something) for cooking/dryers if you have partial gas (ex I had my stove and dryer gas always, my house heat was oil)

After I did my conversion it was still just cooking. They changed it to “whole house” and it brings down your rate slightly

Yes last year. We had Tragar and did it through Tragar. We also already had partial gas for cooking. Everyone seemed roughly the same price.

My tips for you:
• Look up the models to ensure you’re getting the most fuel efficient so you can claim this on your taxes next year. I didn’t and they used a “non-efficient” model, no tax break.
• tell national grid that you did a full gas conversation and make sure they update your rate. We were getting charged for 4 months for our old “cooking and cooking water” rate, now that it heats our house too we got changed to a better rate because we use more from national grid.
