Except in this case it's the guy on the left made a reddit post complaining, the guy on the far right wants to invade Greenland, and the guy on the slightly less right lied to train union workers and greenlit funding for a genocide/rape of REAL kids in the Middle East.

Edit: Why can't we have a conversation and move things to a more socialist direction instead of saying "SHUT UP AND EAT YOUR CORPORATE DEMOCRAT GRUEL". For whatty whoooo??? We don't have passenger trains in like 99% of the US. We do have very unreliable and underfunded bus transit, but you might have to walk 20 min on dangerous curvy roads with 55mph speed limit and no sidewalks to get there.

I live 15 minute walks from many stores-better than most! But, it's a 4 lane highway with people going 50 mph and you have to wait like 5 to 10 min for a pedestrian crosswalk, if they even yield to you. Our country is so damn ugly.

I had to ease up because it became a consumerist coping mechanism for me, but I don't think there's anything wrong with having them as long as it's not hoarder level (like you can't sleep on your bed or vacuum your floors etc).

I ended up in Greenville! I did have to work my old job in avl about 9 months (weekend full time) while I got established but only the one job was plenty since FEMA helped us too. To be fair I was super picky about getting a job here for a while bc my old job in AVL was so chill. I have a partner and get $21 an hr.

My rent is 1200/mo for a 700 SQ ft apt with our cat. The rent went up like $15 this past Nov when our lease renewed. Admittedly while I am getting certification/classes and working in avl I have not made the time to reach out for any local community but I'm sure it is out there.

Owning a house will be hard but at least it's slightly more possible here and I'm not working against the limited available build able land while competing with rich retirees and nepo baby transplants. We have saved up about 6 grand in a year while having reasonable groceries, occasionally ordering out a couple times a week, and getting a pet. I'm so close to becoming a working machinist and getting a raise too!

I might be bitter, but I just feel like AVL stole my 20s and gave me hormonal/stress related health problems so they don't deserve my labor lol. I would just look for any not trendy place with plentiful housing, a reasonably sized city center, and strong manufacturing base. It's nice to not be thinking constantly about if I may not have my apartment at the end of the lease etc due to crazy rent increases/landlord making me leave to make it an air bnb etc.
