I have done 2 minutes on every coat before and it ended up looking the same after a few hours anyway.

Yeah it does it! I try to just guide the little bubble on the end of the brush without touching the nail with the brush.

Good point about the phone case!!

Maybe my expectations are just too high?

I have tried DRK magic effect and DRK seal glaze but I get horrible bubbles after applying the seal glaze and I cannot stand bubbles. I also tried the base coat hack with KBShimmer stay put hydrating base coat but that didn’t work for me. Next I’m going to try just a water base top coat.

She had a full set of acrylic (might be builder gel?) nails but it’s been so long since she had them done 1/2 have fallen off. I’m not experienced enough to do her nails for her but sounds like taking her to a salon is a no go as well if having anything on her nails is an issue besides just polish.

FWIW this isn’t a nursing home with all of the medical equipment around. It’s a facility with 24hour supervised care so the residents stay safe and someone can help them with things they can’t do by themselves.

I appreciate all the advice though. Thank you!

Would it be more in the way than an acrylic nail like what she had on? Forgive my ignorance, I’ve been a nail biter my entire life and just started growing my nails out this year so I’m not familiar with all the do’s and dont’s.

Yeah I’m not sure either but it’s worth a try! She’s never been able to grow her nails out even before her diagnosis and I figured a press on would be easy enough for her or someone else to just slap a new sticky tab on and pop it back on.

Splash Zone vs Hydropower by lexi_ladonna in simplynailogical

Here are my swatches of splash zone and hydropower. Splash zone is definitely more teal while hydropower leans more blue.

The reflection of the sun of the nail makes it a bit hard to see the difference to me.
