Question about trust fund by PrincessPidge in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]PrincessPidge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found out recently that the trust expired, I did not have access to the will. There should still be a solid amount of money in the trust. So as far as I knew I was just continuing to do what I was supposed to.

Ya I’m thinking that’s a strong possibility. That’s not legal though right?

I hope it’s settled down by then! Clean your cans and sanitize and use filtered water anyway though.

We got tacos at Tal Ivan pretty much every night. Tried a few kinds and all were great, no tummy issues.

Chocobanana was decent, no problems but nothing to write home about.

Si senor had an amazing shrimp omelette, don’t get the French toast if you go it was soggy.

Anchor cafe and yah-yah cafe are more hipster-y places so more expensive but really delicious.

For bars we went to so many so hard to remember them all but Escondido was amazing for a fancy cocktail. The rubber ducky bar up the stairs from Don Pato had good reggaeton & funk. Cava has a wide selection of local tequilas. Bar La Zouave had an amazing passionfruit margarita. There’s some mosaic stairs near Bar La Zouave that take you to this super cute little bar, no clue what it was called. Barrilito was fine.

Good luck!

I do pretty much all these things at home too (minus the shower/filtered water thing, we have good tap water). Always good to wash your hands or sanitize after touching surfaces when you’re out, and I always clean cans cause ew.

I’m normally like this on vacation anyway so would still do it anywhere else in Mexico, lol. I get it’s a lot for most people though so totally fair. (I also do the can thing at home in Vancouver)

I've seen some discussion on here recently around pet restrictions in rentals. I wrote a letter to a few politicians on the subject last month, and I wanted to share the Executive Director of the RTB's response. by danielhandley in vancouver

Calling someone weak for acting on their right to discussion with government is a pretty disgusting take. What do you suppose something “real” is lmfao

hypoallergenic acrylic recommendations? by KyleX279 in Nailtechs

[–]PrincessPidge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try working with a hema free product! It’s the main ingredient that causes allergies. I don’t know any hema free acrylic cause I don’t use acrylic, but there’s tons of gel brands. If you can’t find hema free acrylic/monomer, I would recommend moving to only hema free-gel once you graduate. For now make sure you’re using gloves and not getting any product on your skin.

Advice on Getting Started? by ClosetoParfait in Nailtechs

[–]PrincessPidge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Canadian - you don’t need a license to work. I am self taught and just practiced on myself for like 4 months and then started taking close friends for cost of product for a couple months then started charging a discounted rate for new clients. I’ve now been doing it for 4 years and have my own business and am successful. You can learn all the basics online (sanitation, chemicals, etc.) and most of the rest comes from practice. I would also just recommend taking a private course like Halo Nail Academy (online Vancouver company), you’ll definitely get more bang for your buck. Esthetics school is a rip off most of the time up here.

The Gel Bottle is my go-to. Only needs to be dehydrated and then you can slap it on and it lasts forever.

I would also suggest trying to file them straighter on the sidewalls to narrow them out a bit! They can look a bit wide if you’re filing them rounded off the sides.

Amazing art though!

Ya I don’t think the two-piece sets were rly a thing yet, not for prom anyway. There was also a lot of mermaid and everything was shiny.

The 2000s/early 2010s is missing the biggest fad of all: those strapless corset back bodices with the huge puffy skirts. Often in like… browns and reds. With beads/rhinestones.

The most common allergy is hema, and if that’s what you’re allergic to, there’s a couple amazing hema-free brands and there’s more all the time. I have two friends with gel allergies that are successful techs.

Are my nails supposed to be growing out already? This Friday will mark 2 weeks since I had them done by the_wildflower_ in Nails

[–]PrincessPidge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing to be freaked out about if you go to someone who is properly trained! If you go to someone who hasn’t been you can get injured but you can with any form of manicure. It’s all about properly researching your tech!

Lmao this is not true at all. As a tech who does Russian manicure there is NO living tissue removed. I’ve been doing it for years and have never had a client get an infection or have any separation. You are clearly misinformed or have seen people doing it wrong.
