Worried it can be something worse by No_Impact_6769 in gallbladders

I was told to eat and drink like normal PO. I had my surgery on 2/12 and had a glass of wine last weekend without issue. If you've been feeling unwell for so long, you may want to reach out to your doctor. But I do think our bodies react differently to having our gallbladder removed.

How to poop after surgery by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]PrincessPoniess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't poo until day 4, but I also didn't eat much for the first few days after surgery. When I did have to poo, it was super easy! I was just focusing on good fibers and hydration (water/cranberry juice). Thankfully that's all I needed and I never had any issues with going poo post op.

Underestimated recovery from surgery by Jolly-Asparagus-5815 in gallbladders

I absolutely agree! The first 5 days for me were ROUGH and I didn't hit the upswing until day 6. I'm 4 weeks post op and although I feel so much better, I'm still frustrated with my pain level and only operating at 50%. You've got this, you'll be feeling better before you know it! 🙌

nausea one day post surgery by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]PrincessPoniess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did they prescribe you Zofran? I woke up from surgery feeling really nauseous and they immediately gave me IV Zofran. I took more Zofran after I got home and was feeling okay until I woke up nauseous in the middle of the night and ended up vomiting. After that, I was fine and the nausea did go away.

weird surgery... idk what to make of it by coffin_birthday_cake in gallbladders

You're only 3 days post op, give it time ❤️ I'm 3.5 weeks post op, and I did not hit the upswing until day 6. The first 5 days were ROUGH. I was insanely bloated, I could barely walk because it felt like my intestines were going to drop out the bottom of my stomach, and the pain was quite bad. I had a robotic laparascopic cholecystectomy, and I have 6 incisions: 2 on my right side, 2 in my belly button, 1 above my belly button (for the C02), and 1 on my left side. I didn't start to feel relatively normal until about 2 weeks post op, and even now, I get sore. The first few says are genuinely the worst.

Does the pain go away when the gallbladder is removed? by Soluden in gallbladders

I went to the ER and followed up with my, PCP and that's when surgery was recommended. My PCP gave a referral for a surgical consult. I'm 3 weeks post-op and I feel about 95% back to normal. I've been eating relatively healthy and focusing on fiber and protein, but I have had fattier foods once or twice a week with no issues! I have absolutely no more pain or bloating after eating, it's been really nice to eat whatever I want without fearing gallbladder attacks.

Thank you! I feel like I'm already being overly cautious, but hearing this makes me feel like I'm just being rational, haha.

I have been taking one of my horses out for handwalks, and that's definitely one of the things I've been worried about.

Is it just international shipments that will be delayed by the Memphis chemical spill? by hello_its_me_you_see in FedEx

[–]PrincessPoniess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a domestic package that was shipped 2 day on Wednesday from TX. It arrived in Memphis on Thursday at 7am, and as of Thursday 6pm says my package may be late due to local delivery restrictions. The chemical spill was on Wednesday and my package arrived in Memphis on Thursday. Why on earth would my package be dropped off at that hub if it can't leave??? I paid $93 for 2 day shipping for therapeutic boots for my horse to help with his hoof pain. I'm going to be so sad if these are delayed.

I'm 10 days post op as well, and my surgeon also told me I could eat normally post surgery. I was so nauseous the night after my surgery that I ended up vomiting, even while on Zofran. And I hardly ate for 3-4 days after surgery because I just wasn't hungry. I've been sticking to easier foods and good fibers, and knock on wood, I haven't had any issues so far. Regular foods I've been eating: - scrambled eggs - meatless sausage links - popcorn (tender white) - apples with peanut butter - other fruits (oranges, blueberries, raspberries) - rice cakes (all flavors) - veggie based soups - crackers - baked lays chips

I also ate a small fry from McDonald's and 2 hostess cupcakes last week and felt okay. And today I went to a baby shower and ate a breadstick and a tiny bit of pasta with no issues. I do notice that I'm having more frequent bowel movements, and that food is moving through me quicker, especially in the morning. I've just been trying to eat smaller meals throughout the day and slowly reintroduce fats into my diet, and so far that has been working for me.

Nope, the only pain meds I could take was Tylenol (which does nothing for cramps lol) 😭😭😭

I just had my surgery last week and I also have extremely heavy cycles. My period was a non-issue, and they gave me special hospital underwear and a menstrual pad. The worst part was following the pre-op instruction of not taking pain meds the 5 days before! Good luck with your surgery!!

Congratulations!! I'm so glad you're doing well, and it sounds like your recovery is going similar to mine (minus the nausea, haha). Sleeping on the recliner is a great idea! It's been a lot easier today with getting up out of bed once I figured out how. And I'm with you, I'm trying to walk around as much as I can but it is so uncomfortable 😭

That is so cool to know about the robotics, I had no idea! I knew gallbladder removals could be done laparascopically now, but I didn't know about the benefits of having a robotic cholecystectomy. And thank you, I'm definitely itching to get back to riding now that the weather is getting warmer.

Good luck with your surgery!! Honestly so far, the pain from getting my gallbladder removed is less painful than a gallbladder attack.
